Looking forward to this relegation battle between us and Chelsea this weekend, we really must beat the teams around us...
They are just characters who add to the game. Don't forget Wenger has had his moments too with pizza throwing at Ferguson. It's probably just pressure getting to them with the weight of expectations placed upon managers by owners and fans.
No, that is the point really. Mourinho used to add and was a character, now he is a mardy uncouth brat. Wenger is totally different. I wouldn't call him a character but I admire him for his professionalism, his love of the game and for the way he tries to play it. When you consider the players he has invested in and made into global superstars, that is a remarkable record. It is a shame that the fans have turned against him because he has also tried to do all these good things while keeping something of a check on wages and transer fees. He spends more on both now, begrudgingly, because that is the game and you have to spend to win things. He tried in vain for many years to break that model, one that Mourinho never really attempted, he has generally always bought talent in.
Agree with this. Mourinho had so much....swagger, wit, he had such a grasp of the line between pompous, and humor. He's would mess with interviewers, was so enjoyable to watch. That's totally gone. He is a totally different manager this time round. It's not at all endearing. Wenger has never been close to the Jose good days. He has always been boring and focused. Only entertainment is when he is angry or wound up. That doesn't happen enough.
Although Mourinho is always bleating and whining about ref's decisions and the media hatred of Chelsea, how on earth can Costa get away with all he does? He is a nasty piece of work and is no role model for children.
He's pretty down to earth, Wenger. It's a little known fact that, for pocket money, he helps out with stock rotation in the Frozen department at the Muswell Hill branch of Asda. That's where the coat actually comes from.
Odds changes since October 25th Villa 4/9 Unchanged 4/9 Sunderland 1/2 Shortened to 2/9 Bournemouth 6/4 Shortened to 17/20 Norwich 8/5 Lengthened 9/4 Newcastle 13/8 Unchanged 13/8
Would rather see our odds lengthen on the strength of some wins and not Bournemouth draws and defeats.
We have lost a tough fixture while Villa lost (again), Bournemouth and Swansea drew (good result for us), Newcastle lost at home and if Sunderland lose at Palace on Monday then it will have been an O.K. weekend overall. To me Chelsea were never going to be relegated, it is between the bottom 5 with possibly another dropping down to join us to make 3 from 6. Thus far, we are well placed in that group.
To bring the remaining schedule this half up to date, the bottom 4 have these games: Newcastle: Crystal Palace(a), Liverpool(h), Tottenham(a), Villa(h), Everton(h), West Brom(a) Bournemouth: Everton(h), Chelsea(a), ManUtd(h), WBA(a), Palace(h), Arsenal(a) Sunderland: Stoke(h), Arsenal(a), Watford(h), Chelsea(a), ManCity(a), Liverpool(h) Villa: Watford(h), Southampton(a), Arsenal(h), Newcastle(a), West Ham(h), Norwich(a) Against our: Arsenal(h), Watford(a), Everton(h), ManUtd(a), Spurs(a), Villa(h) Bournemouth and Sunderland have harder matches, but Newcastle and Villa have less daunting matches than ours.
I would think unless they beat Watford, they will be lucky to get more than 1 point from that lot. Stoke are no pushovers, let alone the other four fixtures. if I was a Mackem, I would be very, very worried this season.
