Southend (currently 14th but just 6 points ahead of us) are losing 3-1 at home to Portsmouth.

I think Bradford/Plymouth would be a good result for us if that ends in a draw. Walsall and Oxford losing is great for us.

But Shrewsbury currently picking up a point and Gillingham getting all 3 so far is not good news.

If it stays as it is, we still are out of the relegation.... just!

Hopefully we can add to Pompey's woes on Tuesday

    Midweek fixtures...

Accrington (16th on 37 points) vs Oxford (21st on 33 points)

Portsmouth vs Rovers (20th on 33 points)

Rochdale (19th on 34 points) vs Wimbledon (24th on 26 points)

Sunderland vs Gillingham (17th on 36 points)

I am not expecting to get anything from Portsmouth, even though they are not in form. Therefore we need....
Accrington/Oxford to draw as would benefit us more.
    Rochdale NOT to win.
And Sunderland to do us a favour and beat Gillingham.
If all this happens on Tuesday then it wouldn't be so bad if we fail at Portsmouth.

If we get an early goal and the crowd get on their backs anything can happen tomorrow. I fancy us to nick it.

So the full time scores tonight from our rivals....

    Accrington (16th on 37 points) vs Oxford (21st on 33 points) 4-2

    Rochdale (19th on 34 points) vs Wimbledon (24th on 26 points) 3-4

Sunderland vs Gillingham (17th on 36 points) 4-2

Good results tonight. Shame we couldn't get a win ourselves.

We would have been 17th if we had scored one more goal tonight

    Saturdays fixtures....

Wimbledon (24th on 29 points) vs Charlton

Blackpool vs Oxford (22nd on 33 points)

Rovers (19th on 34 points) vs Sunderland

Peterborough vs Shrewsbury (21st on 33 points)

Plymouth (16th on 38 points) vs Rochdale (20th on 34 points)

Walsall (18th on 35 points) vs Bradford (23rd on 33 points)

Wycombe vs Gillingham (17th on 36 points)

We need Plymouth vs Rochdale and Walsall vs Bradford to end in draws. I can't see Wimbledon, Oxford and Shrewsbury getting wins but I can see Gillingham getting 3 points at Wycombe. We have a chance here to pull away a bit but I can't see us getting anything ourselves against Sunderland.

It’s getting exciting already, l gave us nil points against Pompey so in my book we are already one to the good ( Gastro’s optimism seemed well founded ) I reckon their blood will be up now after that result and we might surprise a few people when Saturday comes.

Sunderland has scored in their last 40 league games. Do you think we can shut them out? As our defence is reasonably ok.

Keep Cattermole quiet and we will be OK, a tough ask I know and I just hope our players keep their composure as he can be a little trying during the ninety minutes.

Sunderland hit a bit of a barren spell after they played us up there. I reckon we can at least match them because we're more confident and solid now - and we've got JCH which definitely makes a difference. UTG
