... and what will be the magic number of points to stay up?

Be interesting to compare some results with other people and see who people have going down.

According to my infinite wisdom West Brom, Southampton and Palace are going down with a max of 31 points while we are sitting pretty in 12th with 39 points. TBH not sure where I went wrong as I figure we will get 35-37 points but maybe I added a few rose-tinted draws in to my equation.

By all accounts I genuinely think 35 points should be enough to stay up this year although its so tight down the bottom its near impossible to predict.

I reckon it will be closer to 38points to be safe so I would stick with your 39 prediction!.

However I predicted on the last match thread that we would win against Man Utd and would be safe on 41 points by the end of March so can't see any problems.

I've been thinking up until recently that somewhere in the low to mid 30s will be enough to avoid the drop. In the last few weeks though quite a few of the bottom teams have picked up unexpected points. It's going to go down to the wire and could actually end up involving one of the highest points totals for 3rd bottom. I think West Brom and Stoke have gone. That third spot could be anyone from the bottom half though.

I was clearly a bit optimistic and we ended up on 45 points.
West Brom, Stoke and Huddersfield to go down on 23, 31 & 32 points respectively

Really surprised at the table I ended up with. Thought I was being fairly realistic, but I've got us finishing 12th on 40 points.

10. Swansea 45
11. West Ham 43
12. Newcastle 40
13. Watford 40
14. Bournemouth 39
15. Huddersfield 37
16. Crystal Palace 37
17. Stoke 31
18. Brighton 31
19. Southampton 28
20. West Brom 22

I think West Brom and Stoke are dead and buried, so no way that table is right!!

I've got:
10th - West Sham
11th - Us
12th - Watford
13th - Bournemouth
14th Crystal Palace
15th - Huddersfield
16th - Swansea
17th Southampton
18th - Brighton
19th - Stoke
20th - West Brom

Oh and ACS needs a bullet.

I'm guessing Rafa's goal for the season is 40 points since he's mentioned it a few times and he'll probably achieve it. It would likely see us well clear of the drop. 3 wins, 3 draws, 5 defeats from the last 11.

Was just about to post mine and realised it's exactly the same as this - great minds.........

stupids ****s spout repetitive ****e?

Nah actually I really like the look of that table. Offer me 17th and I'll take it, one result has changed a lot of our mentalities but there's many twists and turns yet. I reckon we'll be about 15th.

Oi - lol

Yep - had us 14/15th at the start of the season, but would be fine with 17th - all about being there next season

Be interested to see what people predictions were at the beginning of the season, 99% sure I said I though we'd end up 13th so my table coming out 12th is hopefully reasonable.

I've maintained throughout I have full faith in Rafa to keep us up. I think we've invested just the right amount since he took the job full time. I'd probably have spent it different to Rafa, but fair play he is getting the job done.

I did the predictor got West Brom Saints and Stoke to go down.

I just can’t see any of them winning games, plus saints have got a load of away games. Had us easily safe with the bottom three going down with barely much more than they have now!

With us having Saints, Huddersfield and West Brom at home that has to be 9 points scrape two away draws at Everton and Bournemouth think we will be there but I’ve got us down for a shock home win against Chelsea last day of the season - think the top 4 will be done and dusted by then so nothing to play for as far as they are concerned. Plus from what I can remember our last home games of the season have tended to be pretty good results?! (Absolutely no stats to back this bold claim up!)
