Everton remind me of when we last went down. We had the players to stay up on paper. But a team full of individuals without a plan just doesn’t cut it in the premier league now.
I went for Brentford but I think they'll bag two or three wins to scramble clear. Everton, on the other hand look done for.
Have they though? I'm starting to think they are in pretty deep. Brentford got an important result the other day and have a real good manager, Leeds showed some signs of being a lot better under Ted Lasso and Burnley you know have the fight in them if not always the quality, plus somehow they managed to buy Weghorst. To me Everton look to have neither quality nor fight. DCL might make the difference but they've got to get him the ball.
As a group of players, Everton are the strongest. Something has gone wrong though and Lampard doesn't seem able to get a tune out of them. I'm sticking with Norwich, Watford and Brentford but anyone from us down is still in the mis
Everton fans convincing themselves that Goodison will save them and keep them up because its atmosphere is mint. I can never ever remember the atmosphere of Goodison being anything but **** tbh.
Me too. But Brentford look to have a better side with Eriksen in it. They'll now have more belief and will surely get more points than Everton.
Some of the games this werk will be key. Brentford v Burnley, Leeds v Norwich. Those are games none of them can afford to lose.
Everton football club don't do relegation. It's nailed on that they will stay up. I'll eat my hat if they go down.
After that Tottenham game, Everton are really in trouble you know. They not only looked absolutely ****ing gash in the terms of players, I mean their defense is about midtable championship level. But tactically they just aren't with it, they pushed and pushed a high line, didn't chase down their men, didn't fight when off the ball. They just walk around, they look like us under Bruce, but somehow WORSE. If you go to a Conte side and play like Everton did, you're pleading to lose heavily. Lampard might be out of his depth.
His post match presser was absolute bollox n all. I don't think he has the first clue how to motivate this lot, organise them or change things up. I don't want to say too much however, because the prospect of Coleman marking ASM is almost perverse.
i always thought cm was Everton’s strongest position with Allan and Doucamare (sic) so thought it odd to go for two more when has significant areas of weakness elsewhere
Not everyone has voted for Norwich...ain't they seen the league table? Or did they vote for another team on the back of a Norwich win?
They rewatched Delia's rousing, braveheart-style rallying call and realised there is still some fight in Norwich yet. They are not down. They are not beaten. They still have fight. They still have hope. They still have belief. Until their next match...
