I don't agree with you SWGHPIB,I think saints have much more flair than Norwich do.Lallana,Lambert,Guly,Schneiderlin and Cork are all good players with the ball that can open up spaces and threads passes through.Lambert has got great hold up play and lays so many balls on to his team mates. Holt is quicker than Lambert and has better positional play than him,but Lambert is the more gifted of the two.Lallana is a superb player with bags of skill and flair,Schneiderlin can pick out some great passes and so can Cork and Guly is an on and off player, but on his day can boss the midfield. I've seen Surman play when he was at Southampton and he was a good player there, but I don't know how he has been for you this season in the prem. I think your defense is probably stronger than ours, but our attack and midfield is stronger.
while all of this is up for debate as we were so closely matched in every area, this bit makes no sense! you've argued lambert is the more gifted and then listed the reasons why he isn't. i'm a big fan of lambert, don't get me wrong, and don't listen to those who think he won't cut the mustard in the top flight, because i think he will without any problems whatsoever, but holt is the better player and is more naturally gifted. lambert is more powerful and some of his free kicks are wonderful. he, like holt, can seemingly score every type of goal - headers, volleys, left foot, right foot, tap ins, long range... very good player, but holt does all those too, and what gives him the edge is his positional play and his speed of thought. and check out how many assists holt has got over the past couple of seasons - its about 30! surman has done quite well to be fair to him. started slowly but hit a rich vein of form around christmas - has been a very good signing but can sometimes be a bit lightweight. exceptional championship player though, as good as there was last season
