you might be back above us in two years time. however, you might have to wait a decade or longer. thats the thing with football - nobody knows, not even you. one day, i expect ipswich will be above norwich again and then it'll turn around again at some point and then turn again no doubt. but to say it will definitely happen next year is clutching at rather tiny straws. do you actually believe any of the stuff that you type?
I think in nearly every position they have more talent than you did!! Goalkeepers are pretty evenly matched and even though i criticised there defence, I think they are better than yours were!! Schneiderling, Lallana, Lambert and Sharp are very good players. I think technically Lambert is better than Holt but Holt's positional play and awareness is better. I just think Southampton have more players who could make something out of nothing than what you had!! They've got a bit more flair
I disagree about their squad being better in every position now, than ours was a year ago. Nevertheless, its not about the squad now, is it? Its about the squads in August. IMO, we will be able to attract better players than Southampton, due to us already spending a season in the Premier League. We shall see though.
I was talking about their squad now and your squad this time last season. I would say now that you have got a better spine to your team but I still think they have more players who can make something out of nothing than you do currently. No I don't think Reading have got a great squad tbh, I think they may well struggle next season!!
I was talking about their squad not being better in every position now than what ours was a year ago. Its quite easy for you to say they have more players who can make something out of nothing than we do, as they've not just spent a season in arguably the hardest league in the world! Only the top six in the league have scored more than us, so if we can sort out the defence, we should be fine.
sorry but you are totally wrong. they are all good players but they are no better than the guys who got us promoted a year ago. if anything, norwich had a little more flair than they do and we certainly had more players who could produce a moment of brilliance. i'd have taken lallana and lambert and stuck them in the norwich team, no question, but the rest would merely be equal to or less than what we already had. also, lambert, having seen an awful lot of him, is not as good a footballer as holt is - cracking player but if you think his positional play is better then you have clearly never watched them both! holt's major strength is his positional play.
To be fair though supers, not many players can be at the front post and the back post at the same time!
I certainly don't see that Norwich had more flair than Southampton from what I've seen this season. No question both teams play good football, I just feel Southampton have that little more quality than Norwich did and I'm not saying that because I'm an Ipswich fan, I think you'll find I've been very complimentary about Norwich the past few years. I thought when you beat us at home was one of the best performances at this level, only to be bettered by Southampton this year against us. I must be totally wrong, its not as if I said that Holt's positional play and awareness is better, please read my post properly before you say I'm totally wrong!!! Which on a whole I think is what your strength was last season, Lambert was able to set up a very balanced team and got players who may not have been technically the best but are positionally sound!!
Please don't say ptc is wrong, can't handle any more tears!! Personally i think Norwich were the stronger of the two but Soton have more flair, as for who was/is the best, there's only one way to find out...........
