I like them too, and I too hate Sheffield United - especially they're moaning fans - but I still wouldn't want to lose our most promising youngster to them.<laugh>

I hate Sheffield Utd even more! <grr>

The way their moronic fans applauded Ched Evans live on national TV at the weekend was a ****ing disgrace! Just tells you all you need to know about them! <ok>

Never mind Sheffield United, how do you feel about possibly losing your most promising youngster to a League One team?

    ah, some common ground <ok>

admittedly, i hated them mainly cos of warnock - felt nothing for them before he was in charge, but you're right - their reaction to evans tells you everything...

lets get this straight, he is not our most promising youngster, he is not even in the top 3. He hasn't even been mentioned in regards to a first team spot. He decided to reject a contract because he thought that he would have a better chance of 1st team action away from the club, which says to me even he knows that he won't get close to the first team.

so i ask again, what is the embarrassing point to all of this?

see where you're coming from although to be fair to carra, your club DID offer him a new contract - they wanted him to stay, but he wanted a longer contract which is fair enough

We would have only offered him a one year deal, like you say if another team offer longer deals than thats his right. I wouldn't have thought that PJ lost any sleep over it!

But certain Ipswich posters got very upset when the news first broke that he had rejected a new deal, especially as it was only a one-year deal. Jonah was most upset.<laugh>

Timing more than anything else, like i say he wouldn't have even had a sniff of the first team next season which is the length of the contract we have offered.

    hardly a biggy!

The bait? But he actually believes what he is saying? The fact that you think he is being ironic is irony in its very self!

I agree with you on that. Southampton are the best team I have ever seen at this level, in terms of passing and movement. I think they could do pretty well next season actually, better than yourselves and Swansea. I think whilst both you and Swansea have built on what you had, although having good players last season you didn't have as many talented players as Southampton have got. The only thing about Southampton is I think they are slightly suspect defensively and sometimes the balance of the team isn't very good.

The Saints also have a terrific keeper, he's playing much better now than for any of his previous clubs!

Thing is Carra, we know we are **** at the moment. You lot think you are world beaters, I would say you got 75% of your points due to momentum, 25% down to actually being better than the opposition.

take momentum out of the equation, and you are ****ed!

Didn't we used to call Sheffield Utd Norwich of the North?

I used to love the games between us when Royle was hear and Warnock was manager, they were generally always brilliant games and the atmosphere was electric. The game where we beat them 3-2 after going down to 10men at 2-0 will always stick in my memory!!

disagree about the saints defence, I think the 2 centre halves are the best i've seen in the championship for a long time, certainly better than what the budgies had, plus i think going forward the saints have goals written all over them. I would predict a top 10 finish for them next year.

Just because you want us to fail, doesn't mean its going to happen.

As for Southampton - they have Lambert and Lallana who will do well in the Premier League. Schneiderlein has always impressed me and Fonte was pretty good at Championship level. Other than those four, they don't have any other players that I would want in the Norwich squad.

i've seen quite a bit of the saints this year and they are so close to what we looked like last year its frightening! its like watching norwich city mark 2.0! good manager - bizarrely, adkins was the guy i wanted at norwich before we got lambert. i think they'll be absolutely fine, probably pushing for top half.
