Coleman sacked as Sunderland sold to a consortium, with the Mackems dropping into league 1...................
His next job will be at Swansea City. Because that is what we do........employ sacked Championship managers.
Very experienced and good manager. Points collection at high levels translates as 54 points a season in the PL.
Coleman took over a disfuncional side and why he did that is still a mystery because he is a very good manager, Not a top draw manager maybe but he was capable of managing a team like Sunderland but unfortunately he never had any real backing but he knew that before he took the job.....He will have offers but i hope he will check the team out first before jumping head first into the job....
As the only one playing devils advocate here to keep this thread going and keeping our feet on the ground of the possibilities that could happen....I'm still of the opinion that the Bournemouth game is the big factor in the fate of many teams.....Win and we will be safe and that is what we all want, But draw or lose and there begins the lottery of who has the bottle in the last 2 games.....Leaving the devils advocate side of me i can see a lot of draws there except for Hudders who i think have their final total for the season already and that leaves me with two final outcomes.... Saints. Hudders WBA. OR Stoke Hudders WBA But with my devils cap back on and we lose badly at Bournemouth i fear that Carlos dont have the bottle to cope with the pressure and you could swap the Saints for us......I hope not..
I think it’s your second three, Stoke, Huddersfield & WBA. I see us just scraping it either by a point or goal difference.
Okay, I want to feel positive but we haven’t won for 7 games, ho are we going to turn it around in last 3....?
From 15th November we went 7 games without a win - in fact we gained 1 point. Then we won. In the last 7 games we have won 6 points. Before that we won 3 of 4 games against Liverpool, Arsenal, Burnley (currently 3rd/6th/7th in the league). Squeaky but not following through ... yet.
And this Rhod is my worry. Just where is this improvement going to come from when everyone involved are fighting for their lives and getting some sort of results....
Others Are “fighting” for their lives, whereas we have not had that commitment from players in some recent performances.... But, two replies were positive thinking!
My worry is the 3 teams below us are getting results and we are not and dont look like doing so....It will be a shame if we can't get another win because look at the players we will lose from Fab to J Ayew who will want to play premiership football. I'm going to put £50 on us to beat Bournemouth as im very lucky most of the time when i put money on us to win.......Get your act together Carlos and get your players motivated for such an important game.......No excuses.....
Stoke have picked up draws, mostly against teams in the lower end and depleted Liverpool) their last Winn was January. WBA are playing without fear and have improved no end but will they beat Spurs? Unlikely but you never know. Did Southampton's win last weekend come because they were against their local rivals? The Everton game will be a good indication - Everton will be playing for pride and retaining 8th place. Huddersfield - I can't see getting another point. Since losing to Brighton we've taken points in all games against teams outside the top 5 and just before that beat Liverpool (at full strength) and Arsenal. We have nothing to fear other than our own state of mind. With Stoke's goal difference and Huddersfield's run in I believe we need 1 win.
I have looked at all the final games coming up for all the bottom teams, and we now have the best run in, we only need one win and we are over the line, Huddersfield will not get any more points, and both Stoke and Southampton now have some real tough fixtures also, it's ours to throw away, and if we cannot get one win from these last three fixtures, then frankly we deserve to go down!..........
look at it this way.....We have 3 chances to get the 3 points we need providing the Saints dont go on a winning run which is unlikely and should we not win any of our remaining games then like Dragon we will deserve to go down and Carlos should be dismissed for not winning in TEN games...
IF,and for me it is a huge if,we stay up will the yankee doodle dandies strengthen substantially to ensure we are not,AGAIN,as of last season be in this position this time next season? Sorry,edit..........when does the stadium expansion begin?
I know it's not their money and we've made some money from transfers out but we've spent close to £120,000,000 since they took over and turned around a projected loss of c£30million (I may have that figure wrong). Unfortunately, we brought in too many failures. Will the expansion go ahead? It is still only a lease and they still only have 68% ownership. If we go down it would be a waste of money. If Cardiff come up I reckon we'll lose a few thousand. I just hope Calvahal is let go at the end of the season or is fully backed. It's often said it's not a good idea to change too many players but I think we really have to bring in at least 6 quality players just to stand still.
