He was clearly going for the ball with the first kick. That's what you get for trying to lie on the ball when the opposition (Kasami) had already taken the ball away from you. That said, the stamp was clearly deliberate and Riether should get a ban. While the FA does have a long history of botching such decisions, I expect them to make an example of Riether since Fulham aren't a big club.

Stamp or not it would be bad if they charged him after some of the other things that the FA have let go. The Aguero (sp) stamp on Luiz last year was one that immediately springs to mind
Aguero's antics, I don't know how the **** they let that go FFS, McManaman too. Then again you look at some of the other **** they've let go, they let Essien away with something awful at least once every season. the FA were recently ****ing of jacuzzi though. So maybe they'll charge Riether after all
Some new rule Things is, from the video evidence they can hardly prove anything, how it looks doesn't mean **** all, but then again, they did Suarez on the word of a liar, met with him 3 times and coached him and then done Suarez and said he was an unreliable witness which is funny cos that's what they called Evra the last time he brought up racism claims against Chelsea's groundsman Not about who's guilty, just referring to the FA's complete bollocks way of doing things
Moyes did not see the stamp by Riether on Saturday but has now watched the incident again on TV. 'It’s a bad stamp and it does look deliberate,' he added. 'That’s for the referee to deal with or for people [the FA] to look at. We wont ask for protection. We are not saying that. Its up to the referees to do it right. I stand by the fact that he is looking at the ball when he kicks, but at Januzaj when he stamps. That's fairly indicative of a change in target. There is absolutely no way to show he was trying to kick Januzaj before stamping on him. However, that's a little bit meaningless seeing as how he did clearly stamp on him immediately after... I think all Fulham fans were expecting the ban. Maybe it is annoying to be the first club caught with a new rule after many players got away with similar (and worse) things. However there is no doubt Riether deserves the ban: we only have a right to feel aggrieved if other players escape a retrospective three match ban for similar challenges in future.
