`If, If, If (as we´re expecting) The Miracle Doesn´t Happen`
Two thousand thirteen to two thousand fourteen
Is not one we´ll remember fond,
If it should cause here in this final week
Exit from the Premier League pond
Everyone here has their own special thoughts
As to the why´s and the wherefore´s of this,
But we´ve talked and written all that to death
So this ode will give that a miss
Recriminations are little use now
If we are to bounce back again,
Out with the old wood and in with some new
Surely has to be our first aim
There´ll be a few who some others may prize
While loanees will head off back home,
Also those we´ve loaned out to other clubs
Will return to the Delia Dome
But before any reshuffling is done
With players, the Manager´s berth,
Has to be sorted and as quickly too
As possible, for what it´s worth
We can´t let the months of May and June pass
Before taking some action here,
The sooner a decision´s made on that front
The better chance we´ll have next year
I´m not sure Adams is ready just yet
To be plunged in the Championship sea,
Bearing in mind the longer we stay there
The harder to leave it will be
Also the question of McNally D
May arise in some people´s minds,
He might also feel the burden´s too much
Himself, and decide to resign
I hope he resists such a drastic step
As he´s done far more good than not,
And if he can produce one more brilliant scoop
Like Lambert, all will be forgot
But whoever does get the chance to take charge
Will have a big job on their hands,
Just as a winning run breeds confidence
So losing drains players and fans
Personally, although the Premier League
With its glamour and ´glitterness´,
Is still the only place I´d rather us be
There´s too much greed and bitterness
So hopefully we will enjoy ourselves more
Despite this season´s fall from grace,
Next year, (if we are where we expect to be)
And finish up in the promotion race. OTBC
PS. We saw last night just how nerves can affect
Even the very best at this game,
So hopefully Sunderland may have a few
Before they are safe in the frame.
