Saturday's decision was a game changing one and Atkinson bottled it no two ways about it.

Big clubs get more penalties due to them putting smaller clubs under pressure.
And referees do a difficult job, bound to make mistakes. Certain players misuse this fx Suarez... But that's the game...

Push on Bony was clear. There was another incident that was not on MOTD where a swans player looked to be floored. I could not see it so well in the stadium.

A goal would have put us 1-nil up and the game changes completely.

For us, it is even .... we get poor decisions against all clubs not just the top 6.

Whilst I agree in principle that certain clubs are favoured by referees in the Premier League, I don't think that this was one of those occasions.
There were two factors that went against you on this one, in my opinion. The first is that Flores did block a lot of Atkinson's view of the incident and the second is that it was from a corner.
I don't know why, but the officials seem extremely reluctant to give anything against defenders on corners this season, which has been highlighted by Martin Skrtel's WWE routine in recent weeks.
It's clearly wrong and needs to be dealt with, but it's happening to a lot of teams.

As YV pointed out earlier on in the thread, it's quite funny to Spurs fans to see other clubs pointing out unfair penalty decisions in our favour.
It's not nice for you lot, of course, especially given the almost complete lack of them that you've had since your promotion, but we've been shortchanged horribly on them over the past couple of seasons.
We didn't get any at all in the league in the last campaign, sharing that delightful honour with yourselves, but we also didn't get one at home in the previous one.
Not only have we had the joint lowest penalties awarded to any ever-present Premier League club, but we're significantly behind Newcastle, who've spent two years outside the top-flight.

Not much help to you all, of course. Sorry!

Thats typical of Gallacher, sticking up for a fellow ref. Only one who has the balls to criticise a ref is Mark Halsey. Blocking his view my arse, they show it on MOTD and he had a clear line at the incident so don't give us that tosh. Just admit Atkinson ****ed up.

I agree not poll, the law makes need to sort out the way players are manhandled at corners. Thats one part of the game that get's on my nerves, should be any manhandling and a pen should be given.

It would soon focus the defenders attention if a few were given , you can literally throw a player to the floor and still not get a reaction

If you are on form and on top of your game and scoring, then bad refereeing decisions will not effect the outcome. trouble is when your struggling these things look huge, yes Bony was pushed in the back, but how many times this season have we handled the ball in our own box and the ref waved on? How many own goals and deflections from our own players while defensively under pressure? at the end of the day it all evens out in my view!................<ok>
