I didn't think he did much wrong until the last 30 minutes. Perhaps he wasn't asked many questions until then when it all went tits up.

How he didn't give that handball when the defender more or less caught the ball plus 2 further probable pens I'll never know.

I wonder what gem we will get Saturday?
The disallowed goal was a result of Salach outmuscling the defender.
Ng was fouled in the first half with the defender continuing to pull his shirt into the area.
I lost count of how many fouls were not called and were called for similar fouls.
No penalty in added in time for handball.
Their keeper not being booked for time wasting from the first minute.
If his performance was inspected last night he should be ordered to attend referee school.

But who would teach him?

Matt Corlett for Saturday.

Another one who will need his sat nav to find us. Neither he nor us have had the pleasure before.

3rd season in league 1, 4 seasons in league 2 and a bit longer in non-league.

It would be wrong of me to prejudge :emoticon-0140-rofl: but we really do only get sh1t refs.

It would be wonderful to be proven wrong.

Hopefully he won't pull the rug from under you on Saturday. :emoticon-0138-think

Yet another newbie for us tonight.

Ollie Yates.

Been a ref for EFL games since 2016/17 but never higher than League One.

Not interested in going higher or not considered good enough. We will see tonight.

He's happy with his progression, binman in Coronation Street to professional referee. :emoticon-0138-think

Advance notice, no amount of shouting or abuse will sway the referee's decisions this coming Saturday. :emoticon-0138-think

True but it makes us feel better. Maybe they will learn to recognise their awful decision or lack of decision making. But I doubt it.

They frequently need schooling.

I agree, but this Saturday's referee, Lee Swabey, won't be swayed. :emoticon-0138-think

Thanks to TwoWrights (or is it TwoWrongs) for the heads up for Lee Swabey on Saturday.

Another journeyman referee who is either considered not good enough or has no ambition to ref higher than EFL level and he's been at it for 12 years so no spring chicken.

I know his name but as he has been in charge of only one game involving us I can't recall why I should remember him. The game with us was home to Portsmouth in the EFL Cup in August 2022. We lost 3.0. Perhaps that has something to do with it......

'PRIZE ALERT'
After many years of internet usage, always under the TwoWrights name, you're the first one to ever use the 'TwoWrongs' line, well... :emoticon-0103-cool:
