Arsenal4Life - this is an utter joke of an article 1) Wigan were better than us. 2) No foul on Walcott, the defender used his body weight to better affect, its called a barge. 3) You sound as bitter as Wenger, lacking massively in class.
I can't really disagree with anything you said. Why was Wenger so animated last night? I really like Wenger as a manager but he can act like a right @r$ehole at times. Sometimes you have to act with a little bit of class and accept the better team won. All that moaning about timewasting was embarrassing from such a veteran manager.
On behalf of football fans everywhere, I would like to thank Arsenal4Life for cheering me up, at work, up here in the not so sunny North East. Now that's what I call a proper good rant. Well done to you other gooners, for seeing the real picture and appreciating what Wigan brought to the table, last night. While Arsenal have clearly the better players, Wigan deserved to win, based on their sheer indominability of spirit. I hope they they stay up, as they have a lot more to offer to the Premiership than say Wolves, Blackburn, Bolton and QPR.
My God, how ridiculous . We have been crap at the moment (Spurs) , as you have done well but your not suddenly the super team that you think. There have been lot cracks papered over. A little grace towards Wigan , would maketh the gentlemen. Chin up Sid
And to add, I found nothing wrong with Niall Quinn's commentary, just because he didn't @rse lick Arsenal, I found his honesty and enthusiasm towards Wigan's endeavour a refreshing change. He didn't put down Arsenal but he was happy for the underdogs. Fair play to Niall Quinn.
Well said. I thought you guys played ok, just Wigan were outstanding. When a team plays like that, you can only say well done. It's not like you folded and conceded 5
I have to admit, the ref was a bit of a twat. But that shouldn't take anything away from Wigan, they deserved their win.
Just how old are you, are you AWs even more whiny offspring? Wenger was asked before the game what he was going to do about Wigan's formation, his answer was to basically ignore it, cos he expected an easy game. Wigan came out blitzed you and you could not get right back into the game. Also the rubbish Wenger came out at the end, there are some sentiments in the poem by R Kipling that AW and some of your team need to take to heart and that includes you. Wigan were better on the night, man up!
How was the ref a twat? I watched from the 25 mins onwards and i saw nothing wrong with him or the Wigan players. They came to get a result and thats what they did. What did we expect, for them to roll over because they came to the Emirates? As for timewasting, that was another joke. The keeper was taking the usual regulation time but the crowd and the players were up in a flap because he didn't take it in 1 second....We should have shown more class in my opinion....
The ref wasn't a joke at all, PISKIE can never find fault with the team so must blame everyone else There was no real time wasting, Arsenal fans had the @rsehole because we were behind and time was moving on. I would like to find out how the ref was a twat.
I find it hard to blame the Ref for much at all. We often get jostled around, and lose out to the teams who 'play the pro game' and stop our better skills from flourishing. Its a tough life out there on the pitch. We have to find some grit, better tactics, and stop whining. I wouldn't mind if we were just edged out by Wigan, but for most of it they showed us up- you don't have to like what they did, but it got them 3 points. We just don't know how to deal with this type of play.
If HotHead ever bothered to read any of my posts he'd discover that I'd already said that the performance was below par and that Wigan set up very well against us and played a game which they deserved to win. Don't let the facts get in the way of a pissy little rant though eh? The reason I thought the ref was a bit of a twat was because of his decision making on awarding fouls, it was very inconsistent. There were times when he would blow up for a fairly innocuous looking challenge and then let a clear foul go unchecked. I don't think this particularly favoured Wigan or us, but I still think he made mistakes. At the end of the day, timewasting is a part of the game, I don't really like it, but you can understand why teams do it. Personally I would introduce a rule where the clock is stopped when the ball is dead.
Fair enough. I suppose with all the dodgy refeering decisions that have been going on recently, he was the second coming of Collina.....
The thread is called "the ref cost us", you pipe in with the ref was a bit of a twat with no backing to your point. It goes in the same basket as Arsenal4Life's rant and sour grapes. Still at a loss as to how the ref was a twat, what did he get wrong ?
