Hello everyone,

It is with a heavy heart to tell you my Dad, known as Reebs to you all passed away Thursday night at 9pm.
I've gone over his final wishes and one of them was to inform you fine gents on this forum that he is no longer with us and instead looking down from above and I'm sure with the same interest in horse racing as ever.
He had battled with poor health most of his life, but still managed to live until the grand age of 75!
Not bad odds when he wasn't given long at the age of 13!
He passed peacefully while sleeping at Broomfield hospital, Chelmsford with family around him.
I know he has met some of you in 'real' life and I'm grateful he regarded you as friends he had made on his journey.

I can be contacted on [email protected] should you wish to,

So for the last time, Reebs signing out

All the best and all the luck in the future
David German

Thank you for letting us know. I really am quite gutted. I met your Dad in person when we went racing together once at Chelmsford. He was a smashing bloke.
Please accept my condolences

Your father was a fine poster and a clearly respected gentleman.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I’ll always remember Ian for his sense of humour and the many films/series/books he recommended to me. He was one of the warmest people I knew and will be sorely missed.

RIP reebs <rose>

What a real shame, very sad to hear... Top man who always had a sense of humour to his posts.

My thoughts go out to you & your family...<rose>

That is terribly sad news. Reebs was a smashing guy and will be sorely missed on the forum. Condolences to you, David, and the rest of your close family.
RIP Ian <rose>

Oh no!

I have spoken to Ian and his eldest daughter a few times when he was ill before. A lovely chap. I am very shocked and saddened to see this notice.

Sincere condolences to all family and friends and may you rest in eternal peace Ian <peacedove><peacedove><peacedove><rose>

Such sad news. Always enjoyed reading Reebs posts. Always came across as a genuine, funny and really lovely bloke. Condolences to you and your family

Please accept my sincere condolences for the passing of the man we knew as Reebs , a real warm hearted soul , who saw the good in everyone , despite others efforts to hide it !
His humour was always to the fore , and even when gravely ill last year , he made light of the situation , another soul has passed , but his spirit will live on among all those he touched .
