If you can't beat them, might be going through Harry's mind.

Harry Redknapp has gone over to the dark side and joined Twitter.

In the space of just 30 minutes this morning he gained nearly 20,000 followers after launching @Redknapp, with the rider: ‘Football Manager, Pundit; Lover of sport.

It’s a far cry from the man who decried the social media platform throughout his time with Hoops, but one who launched his own account with the first tweet: ‘Lets see what all this is about then.’

The manager scoffed at the medium time and time again at Rs, not least because captain Joey Barton controversially posted comments Redknapp was required to defend.

Things came to a ahead in October 2014 when Rio Ferdinand was fined £25,000 by the FA for offensive comments made on Twitter and banned for three games.

At the time the ex-manager said: “I don’t know what Twitter is, and I don’t want to know. It doesn’t interest me to be honest.”

Until now, it seems.

Redknapp resigned as Rangers boss a day after the January transfer window citing medical concerns.

Harry Redknapp thinks Rio Ferdinand should become West Ham manager, and says he would join him as director of football.
Redknapp managed centre-back Ferdinand at West Ham and then signed him for QPR last summer. Both are unemployed after leaving the Loftus Road side.
"Rio Ferdinand's doing his coaching badges and has got a great football brain. I'd like to see him as manager of West Ham, I'd go with him as director of football, that would be a good partnership,"
Redknapp said in his Kicca blog.
"I'm also a Paolo Di Canio fan, I'd like to see him go back to West Ham. I know everybody's slaughtered him but he was fantastic at Swindon."

Harry has obviously identified director of football as a role for managers that can't be ars*d any more...and still a great judge of character...Di Canio "the right sort" apparently.

Poor old sod has clearly lost his marbles.

So Harry "I'm almost illiterate" Redknapp has joined twatter?

This is old but does anyone remember reading...

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp can hardly write, has never sent an email or text in his life and is the "most disorganised person in the world" who cannot even fill in a team sheet, a court heard on Thursday.

Redknapp, 64, who is facing charges of tax evasion which he denies, said he struggles with literacy, adding: "I write like a two-year-old and I can't spell.

Silly old fool's just going to embarrass himself

Am thinking Redknapp and twitter is akin to that Not The Nine O'clock News sketch about the old man upgrading his stereo..............

"you want woofers and tweeters grandad?"

"of course i dont want woofers and tweeters"

" well, you got 'em wether you want them or not......they're in your speakers!"

"you want slim line salad dressing?.........." etc etc

Brilliant!

Maybe someone could post it up? UTR - over to you my friend.

I reckon we're a matter of days away from seeing the results of Arry's selfie-stick being pointed back into his car window on Instagram.
