It's a chat forum, don't think there are any 'big boys'.

When you say "alright", you mean they agree with you or they let your lazy posts slide? You've had no bad language or agressive comments, just a thorough examination of what you said, which you and your mates took exception to. If you cant stand that type of analysis of your posts and call it agressive, maybe this isn't really for you. And do us a favour, don't start with the "reputations" you are standing in a VERY big glass house.

And THAT is where you made your first mistake.

The point of a forum is to hear the opinions and views of others. It's not a court of law where you have to put research and hard evidence into every post that would stand up to the closest scrutiny. I only put forward my thoughts and opinions on the matter. These opinions may well have been inaccurate as it turns out, but they were my impression of the situation and probably the impression of numerous other people. The benefit of a chat forum is that others can give their point of view and use their knowledge and experience in a useful and constructive manner.

If people keep going on about big boys, then I'm going to start thinking that I'm on the wrong kind of forum... <whistle>

Think that tells us all we need to know about your life if you consider yourself to be a 'big boy' on an internet chat forum.

I'm happy to discuss the game with fans of any team, but I think that posting on other teams' boards or cross-board threads need to be approached a little differently to posting on your own.

Well that'll be a relief, but I dare say ill-informed oppo fans will make up stories about some other facet of our club.

No, when I say they're alright, they can have banter, take a joke and not go cry about it like you all seem to have done. They are not my "mates" as I know none of them off this forum, bar one. You can't say that some of your lot weren't being aggressive towards the OP, one even posting pictures of our fans when we got relegated at Villa Park, that's bound to create an angry reaction from us. Oh yes, how could I forget the deluded tag, the one thing we don't seem to be any more that is still being used by pundits and journalists, I know which I'd rather be when it comes down to the reputations our fans have.

Anyway, I'm bored of this argument as this thread is going nowhere it would seem. Bye <ok>

The difference is that Spurs are the first big club that Harry has managed, we run our affairs in a completely different way, so the trend is irrelevant and will only lead you to false ill-informed conclusions if you believe it will be continued at Spurs. <ok>

  12. The OP states that our club will be ruined by (a) a bad wage structure, and (b) Harry Redknap's financial control of the club. Both of these statements are so wrong as to render the OP a wum, whether that was his intention or not.

That's two reasons for you <ok>

Spurs are clearly one of the top 6 sides in the league. If you are at the top, there will also be lots of focus and talk surrounding your club. Not only from the media, but from other fans also. Some of this will be accurate, some won't. But people won't know until they ask the question. As this forum is supposed to be somewhere people can post at their leisure they aren't usually going to put serious research into what they are posting, but rather look for the opinions of others who may know.

You'd probably rather be near the top of the league and have people talk about you than be someone like Wigan who hardly ever get a mention.

And you got. Thank you and good night. Is Bebo still going? I think it might be easier going over there.

Both teams seem to be well in control financially. Spurs always seem to be sensinble in that way and we (Newcastle) are seeming to be more sensible than we used to be. £60k a week wages is the most we pay now (Coloccini being the exception)

It is also prudent if you are going to provide your opinions, to find out a little about the people you are addressing. If you don't, as you didn't, then you risk offending those people, as you did. This is not a good starting point for a reasonable debate and as you seem to be aware of how a good debate should progress perhaps you should give some thought on how to start one.

Ok be honest with me. Were we a little overzealous? (Spurs board.)

On the contrary the fact that you are prepared to make such a comment based on nothing is a little insight into your powers of deliberation.

    A little, Chirpy.
I think that people are just sick of hearing the same tired arguments thrown at Redknapp, though.
