I think we would all love him here for as long as possible , but if we are bottom going into October with little points on the board I don't think the Don will hang about! Harry & saints? It's a funny old game!
Agree with this. He's my worst PL manager by a long way. I've been saying he'd be found out since his first few weeks at Chelsea. I have never seen such a self-conscious sideline style in all my life, nor a manager with such a massive chip on his shoulder with the press - even when he's won. He's a born backroom man. So he won a lot at Porto - he could probably also win the title at Celtic, the nearest comparison I can think of in terms of an unbalanced league. Still, don't want to speak to soon, but he has FOUND OUT written all over his face. So after three games, both Spurs and QPR have amassed three points between them. We may still be on zero points come 6pm, but we'll be within a win of catching them, and have got two of the toughest fixtures in the league out of the way.
Oh it is absolutely shocking at times. Apart from the big matches, that can be very entertaining. The matches between smaller clubs are very, very poor. There isn't much in it, between the two leagues. Both poor leagues.
Yeah, it is...well, sort of.Porto keep winning the league, probably due to the fact that their chairman is a well know crook.
If Adkins gets sacked it won't happen for a couple of months (IMO It'll happen now if we are in the bottom 3 at that point and not looking like getting out. He's spent so much that the club must be thinking that we shouldn't be ending up in any sort of relegation battle) and then Redknapp is one of the last people in the world we would take on as manager. Absolute bull****.
A journalist was just speaking on SSN about the Redknapp story...said it was just an easy story to write as Harry is on the South Coast, available and used to manage Saints. He also pointed out the weasel words further in the article (didn't know The Star included more than headlines!) indicating there was no evidence for this. My view: Firstly, we are playing top sides and are making chances. Secondly, Adkins and Cortese sing from the same hymn sheet. Thirdly, if the worst happened, Cortese would never be able to work with Redknapp. On the side issue, I don't understand why Spurs sacked Harry. It wasn't as if he had a bad season.
Let's all wait until Xmas before we start talking sackings shall we? We need to stay firmly behind NA and the team. They have taken us a long way over the past few years and they are owed loyalty from us fans Also why should we be so frightened by the Championship? Did we not have fun last year?
Cortese said we'd never be relegated whilst he was there. I think that was a daft throwaway line...no one can promise that, unless he plans to throw himself off the Itchen Bridge if it looks likely. More tellingly, he said you plan for the bad times and should never be reliant on parachute payments, which shows that he has considered it. Journalists think he has a hair trigger because he sacked Pardew, but I think he is actually decisive. Forget all the rumours, he knew that AP did not share his dream and probably his faith. Nicola thinks we could be a top top side, whereas AP will always think of us as the Old Saints (where early safety and just below middle is a great season). By the way, that would do this year for us and probably Nicola. Next year, he would want to push on.
Totally agree. I would not set foot in St Marys whilst he remained in charge. Good job it's total bull
Just think if 'Arry did come back the first thing he would probably say is he can't win anything with kids as most of our squad are relatively young and then he would demand an exorbitant transfer and wage budget. We would win the cup but in the process he would bankrupt us and drag the Liebherr business into financial ruin. 'Arry has been found out and I doubt he will get a job in football management again.
I totally agree with this statement. However, I think that Cortese is a business man and I can see he wielding the axe come the end of October if we are not off the foot of the table. The opening fixtures have not been kind of Saints and if we are undone as tactically this afternoon as we were again Wigan, I think a lot of people will sense that Adkins isn't good enough for the Premiership. I hope I am wrong but last weekend rang alarm bells as this was the first time I'd seen an Adkin's team totally out-smarted on the field.
