I accept all that, and I agree. However, there were others on here trying to tell me that it was all a figment of my imagination that our beloved, true blue(and white) manager wouldn't do such a thing!
You posted it about 10 times, unforgivable. Actually made me doubt my self, googled jaas klaan huntelaar, before I realised you were the foolish one Getting you back for the 'Fun League' jibe
Harry`s problem is that he is far too honest and naieve, it`s the same when he is being accused ot "tapping up" players , all that happens is a reporter asks him about a player linked to his club (by the press like most other players are "linked" to other clubs) reporter....Harry what about Ronaldo, would you like him at Spurs? Harry...yeah he`s a triffic player he would make any team better, Headline....Harry wants Ronaldo at Spurs next season. Harry was asked if he would have taken the England job and honnestly said yes, given his age and the fact it may have been his one and only chance i don`t think anyone in his position would have said no, maybe if they had asked if he would have taken the France or Russian or Mexican national teams if offered the answer would have been different.
I think Harry did well. The bottle reference when Dixon tried to bait him was perfect. I'm not the biggest Harry fan, because of how the last season panned out mainly, but I'd rather him manage us for another couple of seasons at least than to have another change to lord knows who at this point. I think he should be given a chance with some money behind him, signings during his time here have be small and cheap in comparison to Ramos, for example. I'd like to see see how he does with a clear run, no England speculation, no court case, no heart problems, hopefully, and a slightly bigger war chest, before the major judgement is made.
The only person putting themselves in an impossible position is Redkanpp himself! If he had half a brain, he would have cancelled his BBC punditry gig as he suggested he might and just went on bloody holiday. It was obvious this question would arise at some point and more importantly, even more awkward questions will come up during England matches when it all goes tits up and they ask about tactics, team selections, formations etc..... The guy is clearly ******ed.
It's amazing how people know we would have done so much better with another manager. That is clearly not backed up by any evidence of how we have done in recent years managed by anyone else. Sure you can say that with the set of players we have any other manager could achieve as much, but the *fact* is that we are placed higher than the ranking of salaries and stadium would suggest, so you could say that we are actually pulling above our weight. Plus how would anyone know we had such a good set of players had they not have been playing so well for most of the season. How did that happen? Accidentally? Then there's the ridiculous number of decisions which went against us (which most certainly didn't 'balance out' over the season), plus we actually finished in a CL place which (literally) in any other season would have got us CL footie. Some of the comments here about our manager (who apparently had nothing to do with the good stuff but only bad) are frankly disgraceful.
vimhawk what I don't understand in your comment is how you think criticism of Redknapp is disgraceful.
Me neither. I completely agree with flaspurs' comments. Harry just CAN'T keep his gob shut. The BBC has asked him to contribute his " expertise" and he just can't say No. I wonder what the Beeb is playing at here, are they deliberately inviting controversy?
So what if Harry said that he would have taken the England job, its hardly a surprise we all knew that he couldnt turn it down. Another pointless Harry out article.
**** me, it's old Mr "no mates" Peskie come to Wum us all again. What's the matter? Finally run out of people that will talk to you on your board?
