I really think that this is part of our problem. We think we are better than we actually are. I agree that our squad is better than our current position suggests but we have very few top quality players. Look at our CBs for example; Hill full of effort but deffo not top quality. Ferdy was fourth choice CB at Sunderland when we bought him. Nelsen was 5th choice CB at Spuds. Traore was 3rd choice LB at Arsenal, Onouha did not even make the City match day squad most weeks. Look at our forward options; Fulham are still laughing that we paid 4million odd for Zamora. No pace, cant jump and cant tackle. Nobody else in the Prem wanted AJ. Fulham refused to match even his then current wages to keep him. Cisse is a nut case. Undoubtedly talented but physiologically damaged goods. Need I go on. We have bought so many average players. Granero, Bosingwa and Hoilett seem to be Prem standard but not world class. Cesar seems to be the only top top player we have. M'Bia still has a lot to prove.
Just want to say (even though Im still backing Hughes for now) that HR said many times he admired Taarabt and thought alot of him but couldnt find a place for him in his side. HR rates Taarabt for sure. But anyway.

Im not sure Benitez is the right guy for a dog fight.I think we need someone who can motivate and manage the players who are abviously lacking confidence.Maybe Benitez would be a better choice further down the line,once(if) we are a mid table team.Has MH actually ever been in a relegation scrap?.New world for him

In the (unlikely, I think) event that we end up with Redknapp, I'd like to think that as a manager he would be out to get the best from the team, Adel included. i have not been a major fan of Adel in the pst, but I agree - he has come on and an effective manager should be able to look at the players as resources without letting past personalities iinto it. Yeah, sure.
