Looks good to me,would rather stay at the gate myself, proper ground, proper atmosphere, not like the plastic grounds.

    It'll be a nice-looking ground when it's finished.

Once the egg chasers get to the Arriva Premiership, they should pull in quite decent crowds.

So what do you 82ers think about sharing your former ground with Bristol Rugby, as you'll be the junior partner in the arrangement? <whistle>

Interesting pic. Pity here are not ones showing what the detailed changes to Eastend/Williams would be.

I do like the vomitories positioned half way up the Dolman.

In the EP there was no emphasis regarding the characteristics of Ashton Gate. The Eastend would be totally removed in look and feel by this. It would create a new Atyeo, rather than noisy end.

It does indeed smell - very nice, mainly of lavender and camomile. Unlike BS3 which reeks of sewage, donkey's posteriors and whores.

    And wee.

Not sure how fans will get a say in it. Application to council is june/july. The club have already very clear ideas for the formal application. The timescale is narrow for any consultation and it appears the fundamentals are already decided.

This is forward thinking by the club and caught most, if not all of us off guard, right? Capacity wise, it's fine and if there was ever a need to increase it, the Atyeo would be the obvious choice subject to purchasing the houses behind it.

I was never that keen on the renderings for Ashton Vale - it just lacked the panache of the Amex, Reebok or Middle Eastlands. The redeveloped Gate actually looks a little better from these initial drawings but it will make the Atyeo look even smaller than it does now!

The main problem is still access and parking. Simply put it sucks. Also would like to see whether City are still planning on facilities to bring in non-matchday revenue as this will be an increasing problem as the financial fair play rules come into effect. What about the revenue generated by the rigby club? If the stadium is continued as an asset of a holding company, does this trickle down to the revenue that is part of the FFP regs?

Wiz/3 Lions - Is the picture you provided an up to date artists impression or is it wishful thinking ? Just wondering if there is any substance or reality to it ?

Cant help thinking what a mish-mash of styles it looks................?!!!! Only the far RHS (Old Dolman ?) and lower front (old East End?) look like they belong to the same structure.

Its from the EP. big and quite detailed article first couple of pages on it. shows timescales EE 2015/williams2016 being demolished but Dolman Atyeo being re-vamped v rebuilt 2016/17. plans going in june as said on here.

do not like the EE idea at all. obvioulsy it is all a big if it happens but corporate boxes, high roof, bowl type sides mixed with fans from the atyeo wont work well and what is the most vocal part of AG will fall away. it will be a family stand and there is nothing wrong with that but i would like to have seen a go at improving the old end feel that is there now.

A sensible move by the board - we now have 2 viable options (well one and a half)

I'd like a steeply raked 'home end' under a full width/depth roof even if it is all seats. Like they used to have at Wolves, and the away end at Eastville. Neither of those were covered I know but for anyone old enough to remember, you'll get the picture....!

It was my drinking years but i dont remember either being steep old south had a silly bit of roof as well. if you want atmospheric it should be tight and enclosed all the things new ground are not.
