This bull at the gate attack of car drivers throughout the City will eventually bite him on the arse large time.

Any strategy as another has pointed out simply reflects what is done nationally. Bristol's car parking problems are due to the general populaces obsession with cars.

Doing nothing is not an option. Doing anything gets condemned.

And yet the other day, you was saying the country could cope with a few more people in it. Think it's about 3 car average now to a family home so every one family you put three cars extra on the roads.

Its a chicken and egg situation. You build more roads people buy more cars to fil theml. Transport drives trade and that creates jobs. The whole situation is unsustainable. The question is what is the answer.

Emersons Green will be small compared to what is going up at Lyde Green it is going to dwarf it. The Bristol and Bath Science park is going to be massive, plenty of Hi Tech business will be moving in.
We have our local business meetings here in the main hall.
That slip road will have to happen it will be needed to cope with the extra traffic that will be generated.

Selective reading of the post? If he wants to reduce cars in to the City Centre he should stand by that principle and not moan when an out of town shopping centre is able to offer a very popular option of free parking that a majority will find appealing!

The mans a total prick.. I can only pray he is removed by vote as soon as possible.. unfortunately I am unable to vote against him due to my location.

I hope those that moan about him can get off their backsides and have their say this time.. The twat was voted in on an approx 25% turnout last time.

that is the problem ..no one really wants a mayor . and those that do seldom bother to vote anyway
we should not have a mayor unless 20% of the total population of Bristol are voting for an individual ...
what he has done to the traffic in Bristol is criminal .. snarling it up and causing more pollution .. .. next he will want to charge to go into Bristol to then pay to have to park .....
    on the charging comment ..
there must be a toll free access route across the city n to south east to west and if you look at the map that will be difficult ....

The country can if the sufficient infrastructure is built. At the moment immigrants are being scapegoated to cover up the lack of spending in infrastructure.

Perhaps the 3 car average is due to children being forced to live with their parents til they're 30? unless it's all these 10 year olds riding around in their cars

Ok I will try and explain it in simple terms for you.

if you divide x cars by y houses, the larger y is the smaller the number of cars per house assuming x is a constant

For example family A have 4 cars, shared between mum dad a 26 year old and a 22 year old.

The 26 year old moves out, the average cars between houses them goes down to 2 per house from 4.

The 22 year old then moves out, the average number of cars per house moves down to 4/3 per house.

The number of cars on the road has nothing to do with how many there are per household you ****ing useless twat!

The kid moves out and takes his car with him. You really are a thick ****.

I was speaking about how the average number of cars per household was to do with kids moving out at an ever increasing rate. You are obviously got yourself confused.

And I've done very well academically for a kid who is thick as ****.

The only 'confused' one is you, I have read enough of your posts to confirm that. plus its absolutely irrelevant, the point was 'more people = more cars.. Even you can understand that surely?

BTW, your sums are a complete load of bollocks!

With regard 'academically' I truly despair.

I understand that there is a correlation between population and cars. However if you understand network flows, you'd understand that the greater the capacity of an arc (roads) the higher the more things (cars) can travel down them hence my initial statement.

How long do you actually think it takes to build a road?
To do the Newport to Cardiff relief motorway will be if started this year will be completed between 2029-2031.

Stop being a dick as well, if you're taking your driving test this year, that could mean you your mum and dad with cars. So unless you don't have any siblings similar age to you that would mean 3 cars and its **** all to do with staying at home till your 30.

The time it takes to build a road depends on a lot of factors, largely workforce and the length of road, but also soil type and how hilly an area is. A relief road a few miles long could take a year or a few depending on a lot of factors.

The average number of cars would be affected with families with children under 17 thus limiting it 2 for this demographic. Therefore a large number of people above 17 need to be living with parents to raise this average.
