The argument started in 2007. The other manufacturers found a loop hole (which was a bit sketchy) in the freeze and Renault got left behind

    *Wikipoodia:

The engine specification was frozen in 2007 to keep development costs down. The engines which were used in the 2006 Japanese Grand Prix were used for the 2007 and 2008 seasons and they were limited to 19,000 rpm. In 2009 the limit was reduced to 18,000 rpm with each driver allowed to use a maximum of 8 engines over the season. Any driver needing an additional engine is penalised 10 places on the starting grid for the first race the engine is used. This increases the importance of reliability, although the effect is only seen towards the end of the season. Certain design changes intended to improve engine reliability may be carried out with permission from the FIA. This has led to some engine manufacturers, notably Ferrari and Mercedes, exploiting this ability by making design changes which not only improve reliability, but also boost engine power output as a side effect. As the Mercedes engine was proven to be the strongest, re-equalisations of engines were allowed by the FIA to allow other manufacturers to match the power.

Surely everybody remembers how bad Ferrari's reliability was with engines in 2010? Alonso went through....3 engines in like 5 races or something?

oh god, we're using wikipedia as our references!

Where's Xiggly/marital!? He loves a bit of wiki when it suits!

As for Renault being left behind with dodgy rule decisions from others, RBR has more than made up for that since then <ok>

I thought the renault engine debate was common knowledge.

There was a guy on autosport who showed us a short video of the Mclaren nose bending as well. It's not only Red Bull that's for sure!

    If it passes, it's legal!

Just wondering if the flexible nose is related to the flexible wing? I thought there were rules that all body parts of the car should be rigid?

Very likely RBR have invested a ton into flexible carbon fibre.

All wings flex to a certain point and also bounce when they go over bumps, so I'm afraid your video is inconclusive.

What the FIA are looking for is wings the continuily flex in a unifrom manner when under load at speed.

If the wings were completey rigid, any force going through them as a result of a shock or jolt from going over a bump or a large kerb could cause them to snap

We are pointing out the nose flexing, not the wing.

Another picture of the aero paint on the rear wing and quite a lot to boot:

And it looks like a new diffuser is being tested as well with all that paint:

Is it? To me it looks like a light trick/reflections passing over the body rather than the nose flexing, may be able to tell from a front on angle but from that view its not conclusive, well, to me anyway.

It's clearly obvious that it's a magic trick, look at his hands ffs the real nose is in his sleeve...

I'd also say it was the shadows making it look like the nose is changing
