Anyways lads, my dad's mate talked to Peter Beardsley today (yeah I know you'll probably be like "oh here we go, a friend of a friend of a girl who's sisters shagging her uncle heard this" sort of thing, but it's not), he's a top bloke, he wouldn't make this **** up.

If this is true, according to Beardsley, AC for 20 million is close to being agreed upon. Liverpool want Newcastle to wave the sell on clause thing first though.

In fairness, 20 million is way more than I'd feel comfortable paying for AC. If you take away the context of how we sold Carroll, I'd be bricking it about paying that much. Not to say I don't rate him like. Would still be happy to see him in black and white again, just hoped we might fleece the 'Pool for more!

Hope so, he's good as an impact sub at the moment, and he almost did that part vs Monaco. He needs to have a better season end product wise if he's to stay probably, though.

For £20-15 mill, I think we could sign someone better, but for £12 million Carroll would be a good signing. Liverpool won't hold onto Carroll at £80k a week for very long if they truly don't want him, and so it's a buyers market I hope.
