Yup - it seems his failure to get families involved in the mid-late 80's led to sub - 10,000 crowds when we were riding high under appleton and horton - or was that the reticence of fathers to take kids to games where they were caged, treated like scum by the local constabulary and had to endure piss-soaked vitriol from so-called "fans" - and that was just the home support....

Bradford away when Askew scored in 30 seconds (the cup match after liverpool) was the one my dad said "i'm through with this - it's no place for a 6 year old - you can come with me when you are older" and that was that....

....Until boothferry was empty and there was no risk anymore that was.

Don Rbinson was ahead of his time. Humberside police, Thatcher and you ****ing knuckledraggers undermined him, though I do accept EDG - you will never admit your "glory days" almost destroyed the club you purport to "love". YOU and your ilk are the reason we don't have terraces and cheap tickets anymore - ably assisted by sky, Lord Justice Taylor and other vested interests but YOU were the Neanderthal scum who gave them the opportunity and drove the natural support away in the first place.

I also note well that these days there are more in corporate hospitality effectively subsidising E1 tickets than there actually are in E1 and E2. More in the family enclosures too, thank god.

    **** yourself, you smarmy, self-congratulatory, ignorant, heritage hi-jacking ****.

    Sad old man.

But according to Nick Thompson Hull City Tigers is only the commercial part of the club which you are happy to support instead of Hull City the playing arm of the club?

If you google Hull Tigers the second posting down is relating to news of Hull Tigers and the Birmingham game.So much for Hull City. It's started, the insidious change of name!!!!

in fact if you see the matchday programme it reads "HULL CITY AFC" then "TIGERS" in bigger lettering below it.. a re-branding maybe but not a full name change..

It'll search for the two words seperately so it doesn't necessarily prove anything unless you read through the article for references of Hull Tigers.

However if you enter "hull tigers" in quote marks like that onto google it searches for the complete phrase and surprise, surprise our OWS is top of the list when you do that. That means that either the OWS contains a lot of Hull Tigers references or the club have specifically made an effort to get the OWS to the top of the Google listings for that phrase.

Yes, and with a turnover approximately 10 times the size of yours. Not that that is relevant in the context of this board.

    But I have retired.

Foolish comment as certain sections of Islam welcome Martyrdom but to Christians suicide is a sin. Hardly a way to show devotion if you are a Christian.

Never let the truth get in the way of your ego OLM. I hardly need to defend myself against you on an accusation of snide comments.

My business experience is just as great as yours. I confess I have no experience in running a football club, but neither do you. What you do hardly gives greater expertise in Football management than Generator sales. Which of course makes your comments ill informed, though I'm sure in your own mind, as you cannot ever be wrong, is an attack on you. It isn't, but most right minded people will realise you also have none of the experience which you claim I am lacking.

I'm bored with this as a subject. Unless the name change results in the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse riding down Whitefriargate I don't care.

If it does happen I'll be pleased only because it will piss off OLM and his acolytes.

If it doesn't happen I'm happy for OLM to believe he's single-handedly saved the heritage of the club and rescued it from the ridicule of a name change. Hurrah!
