F**k next season, just wanna revel in this one first! Am so happy that I haven't even taken my Elvis wig off - even though it itches like a c**t with crabs! DG getting his 100th career goal in our 100th season has such a nice ring to it! And finishing 11th!! WTF, would have sold my grandmother to get that result at the beginning of the season!! Have followed the Swans through thick and thin - from nearly dropping out of the league system to comfortably surviving in the top flight! What a magnificent season - what a magnificent team, management and board!!!! We get to do this all again next season, with a ****load of extra money and a team that realises that the grass is greener here and not elsewhere! We beat the Prem League champs and today beat a team that boasts one of the best records in European football - we are Swansea and it don't get much better than this!! So will go to sleep with my lil Elvis wig on, and dream of more glory to come - we are Swansea - and we are STILL premier league!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PGF, readin what you just wrote makes it EVEN better. Great season, great fans, great club, great players, great manager, great to be a Jack
Reason to be cheerful? How about the plaudits that we have increasingly received as the season's worn on? And not just softly encouraging, mildly patronising, words for a plucky underdog that is punching above it's weight. We have been, correctly, held up by knowledgeable and respected football pundits and journalists as a blueprint, and a saviour; an anti-dote to the all conquering "cash = success" philosophy, which, in these uncertain financial times, is nothing short of a vulgarity. Man City may well win the league and cups for numerous years to come, but, ultimately, their business model is flawed and unsustainable. Of course, the club can be sustained through the personal investment of it's owner but it will never be able on stand on it's own, and will never be able to to achieve based solely on the strength of it's previous achievements. I take most pleasure, in this season of innumerable pleasures, in knowing that we did this the right way, the ethical way, and what will surely, in the future, be recognised as the only way. We are trailblazers, and, which ever league we play in, when the football house of cards comes crashing down, which it shall, we are in a prime position to rise above the ruins and soar, possibly, to the very highest level. Swans to be European Champions in the next 30 years? It's perhaps not as crazy as it once sounded. This may be just the start.....................................
Hopefully this is just the start of the club laying foundations for Premier league football for years to come, well said apple!...............
