What I dont understand, we have roughly 10 midfielders and 8 of those are attack minded. Within those 2 our new recruits yet he wants to play defensively!? 3 season's of attack attack attack brought us success, were a team full of talented attacking players so why on earth didnt he play to our strengths! If we had defended and managed to get a 0-0 draw then that would be an excuse but when you line up to defend an entire game and you get spanked 5-0 that's when I'm going to get concerend. As early as it is, if we lose next week and he carries on playing GH on his own upfront then alarm bells will be ringning already.

Personally, there is nothing we can do, I've moved on. I think we all should. We can all play manager and there is nothing wrong with that but it's all about the players/staff reaction and we just need to get behind them. I do think if we have a repeat performance than that's when we should be slightly worried, if that won't give them a kick up the arse, what will?

This is a hard league - Fulham are a good side. Tactically and technically we were well off and deserved our thumping.

As much as I hate to say it but this Saturday's game takes on the significance of a 6 pointer and it is important we get it right and don't repeat the mistakes of last Saturday. QPR looked as bad as us (that's not saying much is it) on MOTD and they too will be looking to rebound so it wil be a hard game.

Let's all get behind the lads on Saturday and cheer them to victory.

If like he said you can't expect to do that at Fulham, that really narrows it down on what you can expect on your travels. so from what he says he is only really going to go for it in probably what 3 away games this season! scary stuff for you.

fulham have lost just 7 home games in two years. they are a very, very good side who finished 9th last year and have been top half for 3 of the last 4 years. they have reached a uefa cup final in the past three years too. to say 'we should look to get something at fulham' is fine but it is not to be expected - most teams come away with nothing.

Sorry to have to pick you up on this again, but I'm afraid I am of the strong belief that your argument in this case is complete bollocks. Are you really saying we should be going to Fulham 'expecting to lose'? It appears that you are and what kind of mentality is that to take into a game against a team who finished just a couple of places and a handful of points above us last year? Yes they have a fantastic home record and it was always going to be tough, but they're not Barcelona for heaven's sake (though we did make them look like it admittedly!)

When I look at the fixtures at the start of the season there are games I automatically write off, such as home and away against City, United, Arsenal, Chelsea and possibly Spurs, and then of the remaining games there are clearly those where we have a fairly decent chance of success and others where we know it will be tough but if we play to our best and they had an off day then you never know, we might be able to pick something up. For me Fulham definitely comes into the latter category. I've not read anyone saying we'd just need to turn up to win, and I've not even seen anyone saying we "should" have won. However I stand 100% behind the fact we should have gone to the Cottage looking to take something from the game, and I'm afraid I don't quite understand the mentality of anyone who so vehementally disputes this as nonsense.

i think had we got a point from craven cottage that would have been deemed an excellent result. i think we all could see that from the outset, that was what we went looking for. to be fair, first 25 minutes we were very comfortable, we could easily have taken the lead had surman taken his great chance, and i felt a point was not out of the question. it wasn't until ruddy made that slip that we went from looking perfectly solid to a nervous wreck. it then snowballed into one gigantic mess.

in my opinion, norwich should go into EVERY game with a plan to either win or at the very least get a point. not sure what there is to disagree with that! we did that on saturday - we went for a point, it didn't work, but we were trying to get a result. even against the likes of united and citeh we should go with a plan to get a point or even try and win. that's not weird in any way - it might not work, but you still go there with that thought of a result in mind. i felt we were capable of getting a result at craven cottage, despite it not being a happy hunting ground and they possess some good players and a very good home record. i never expect a result against anyone, but i do often think we are capable of getting something from most games

Playing devil's advocate a little, but the general concensus I've picked up from City fans is "we should be looking to take something" from games such as this - barring the top 6/7, as stated above where any point is an early xmas present.
