Ideal situation for us really. They either lose or their victory is meaningless because they've just hoyed money at it.

If they'd built a team with clever acquisitions in line with a strategic plan, making the club somewhere players want to go for reasons other than money, I'd be jealous, because they'd be setting up for lasting success.

Unfortunately I think they'll win, but only because Man Utd had a hard game last night against Barcelona

Never thought I'd say this, but I agree with the sticky hat wearer.
A trophy should be regarded as way way way better then a 4th place finish.

I agree with this. Winning trophies is the whole point of the game.

The upside of qualifying for the champions league is that it gives you enough money to buy better players and hopefully win more trophies. Newcastle already have the money, so it's even less important to them than it is for someone like Arsenal or Spurs.

I don't agree with the money aspect, to me it's the glory of playing in Europe's premier competition. Many players looking for transfers will only consider going to a club in there.

I just hope they win nowt ! At the best of times they think they are the dogs bollocks - dear knows what they will be like if they win anything . I hope they are walking down Wembley Way with there tails between there legs and meanwhile back on Tyneside they are wrecking the Bigg Market .
 
Anyone thinking of going to Newcastle tomorrow. don't bother all shops and bars will be closed as all the geordie nation will be in London.
