everyone on this board, including you jwm were all extremely happy after the last four results and understandanly so... only the most optimistic of us thought we could make a late charge for the play offs meaning we are going to lose games between now and the end of the season. we are away (at the moment) from the relegation zone and we are being ridiculous if we think we are not going to lose more. lets stop all the jewell out brigade, he isn't going anywhere so lets get to the end of the season where a big summer can see us being in a good state for the start of next season.

I have kept saying for months that Jewell isn't up to the job despite us winning 4 games in a row! He has had ample time to fix our shoddy defence and has failed to do anything! If our defence had been up to scratch we would be up near the play-offs not languishing in the bottom half of the table. We have scored 57 goals but conceded over 60FFS! This is Jewell's fault and you can't deny otherwise!

Very true Warky, but like PP says, it's a case of having to grin and bear it; he's obviously not going anywhere and certainly not while Clegg's still here, so it would seem. THAT'S where the problem lies, the sooner we get shot of him the sooner we can move on. Let's just hope we don't get sucked back into the relegation zone. CLEGG OUT

In fairness we should probably stop wumming for today because we're probably going to lose to Man United today, but it could be worse; could be Brighton.

Or colchester in league one!

Oh, I thought we were talking about this season. In that case, how about losing 4-1 and 5-1 to your closest rivals in the same season, and allowing some fat northern lad who couldn't possibly make it in the Championship, let alone the Premier League, score a hat-trick past you.

<ok>

You couldn't dream of playing as well as we did against Manchester United; we may of lost but we were the better side. If you concede 7 to Peterborough (Albeit with some help for the ref) then God knows what a top Premier League side would do to you guys.

to be fair DM, we are currently suffering our worst run for nearly three years! even then our previous worst run was 3 straight defeats the year we were relegated. ipswich have somehow eclipsed that rubbish record by losing 7 in a row this season!!

I think that its unfair to say that hes done nothing about the defense he brought in more defenders than he has strikers

Cresswell, Collins Sonko, Ingi, converted Edwards to a defensive postion, attempted to use bullard defensivly

compared to Chopra and Ellington, ellington we all predicted would be mostly useless

whats been clear then is that, whether stumbling into it or not hes changed to a more youthful and back to a attack is the best form of defense policy

What is fair to point out is that the personnel he brought in to improve our defence have been a complete disaster bar Cresswell and the jury is still out on him defensively! You cant play 4 different goalkeepers in the same season and expect anything other then a shed full of conceded goals.
