I don't see 1 player in 7 days. No doubt we'll get a load of eyewash from Pardew about how we don't understand how hard it is to sign players.

Bring on the French and the kids.

    ---cabaye----tiote---
    Marv--Ben Arfa--Jonas
    ---------Ba----------

would have been my preferred lineup with Barton still in the squad

    Forgot about Smith <laugh>

Wait a minute, if Barton leaves that means Smith is one step closer to getting onto the pitch for us! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Marveaux looks like a great little player, so this could actually end up being quite strong, if not better.

We never utilised Barton's CM abilities, and on the wing he did a job which could be replicated by any good dedicated winger.

I'll miss his creativity and footballing intelligence, but considering that was never really used to its full potential while he was on the wing so often, it may not be such a huge miss if Marveaux steps up to the plate.

My only negative is that it's yet more depth gone, although Gosling looks good.

Jonas has always been a left winger. Certainly thats where he made his name for Mallorca and us. That's not to say he couldn't play right but I suspect he is better suited to the left. And I'd be loathe to move him after his first two games this season. Saying that I'd be loathe to lose Joey who has also been outstanding.

    .................Krul

    simmo...saylor...colo....new LB

    Gosling...tiote...cabaye....jonas

    ..........Ba.......new FWD

    option 3

    .................Krul

right footed (hence his awful crossing) doesnt mean he'll be better on the right than the left though
