District line is incredibly bias as per usual, how has Mourinho always had SAF sussed? I seem to remember the last time we bumped into Jose in Europe when he was at Inter we breezed by them with ease, they couldnt even score a goal against us. All they did was park the bus. I watched Madrid against Dortmund and Dortmund ripped them apart, and madrid were very fortunate to escape with just a point over both games getting a late equaliser in the home leg. Madrid are all hype at the moment, they really aren't playing well. They remind me alot of City, in that they have great individuals but poor team chemistry. I fancy us to progress, and if we do we have the added bonus of getting old Jose sacked in the process
If you seriously judge teams by the group stage you need help, I watched 2 pretty average Barca displays against Celtic. The top teams improve in the knock out stages. Madrid aren't hype at all, they're champions of the strongest league in Europe, just recently they slapped Sevilla and Valencia about (two decent sides) - Valencia, a side that are in the last 16 of the CL. The only hype has been attributed to United who the Murdoch media are labelling favourites purely because they are romping a pretty awful league which is only slightly better than the SPL this season in terms of competitiveness. Porto 2-1 Man U Man U 1-1 Porto Chelsea 1-0 Man U Chelsea 0-0 Man U (LC) Man U 1-2 Chelsea (LC) Man U 1-3 Chelsea Man U 1-0 Chelsea Chelsea 3-0 Man U Man U 1-1 Chelsea Chelsea 0-0 Man U Chelsea 1-0 Man U (FA Cup Final) Inter 0-0 Man U Man U 2-0 Inter The only time Fergie truly got the better of him was when he was at Inter in his first season with Mancini's poor team, that 1-0 at OT was a joke, you scored one fluke goal and we battered you from start to finish with VDS producing heroics. The season after was the same, we pissed all over you, so even in the draws we were still comfortably the better side in all of those. Jose beats Fergie hands down and you know it. Fergie never managed an away win of any description v Jose meanwhile Jose has won at OT twice.
Don't get carried away by tonight, Real were far the better team. United cant park the bus at Old Trafford and that'll suit Real. Real score first then it's over, United score first it makes no difference to the tie as Real know they need to score and if they do all the momentum is with them. Far better to have the home leg first, I've always said it.
We didnt park the bus, we even had better chances then them as most of theirs were from distance aswell
we had 3 strikers on the pitch and some talking about parking the bus ... doh had enough chances to score 4 or 5..unbelievable
Jokes aside Dave I thought you did well, played much better than I thought and tactically sound. No matter what happens 2nd leg you've made a game of it and pushed one of the best teams in Europe all the way. As good as you defended and played in general, you will actually have to do even better at Old Trafford. Jones, Ferdinand, Carrick and Evans to a man were excellent.
