Ramos and Alonso are one booking away from missing the return leg while there are no United players who are in danger of the same.
Oliver Holt ‏@OllieHolt22 Believe Kagawa starts for United tonight. Jones and Carrick in heart of midfield
Interesting..perhaps shwan is right about Cleverley and we'll line up ----------Jones------- -----Carrick---Kagawa-- Valencia-------------Rooney -----------RVP----------- That has a nice balance to it, solid grafters but dangerous on the break.
Nick Coppack ‏@nickcoppack BREAKING: Sir Alex tells MUTV "the responsibility will be with Rafael" to stop Cristiano Ronaldo
"The responsibility will be with Rafael," Sir Alex said. "Rafael's maturity this season has been fantastic. Obviously Robin van Persie has been sensational but, outside that, Rafa and Michael Carrick are having their best seasons ever. "He's Brazilian so he doesn't fear a thing. I trust him and have faith in him tonight." Sir Alex admitted Ronaldo, who spent six seasons at Old Trafford, has progressed even further since signing for Real Madrid, but is confident he knows enough about the 28-year-old to negate his prodigous talent. "He's flourished since he's come to Madrid," the manager said. "You'd have to be stupid not to respect his goalscoring record. But if one team knows about Ronaldo it's us. We had him for six years so we know everything he can do on a football pitch. We probably have an advantage in that respect, when it comes to facing Ronaldo.
poor rafeal .. that will be his biggest test .. hope he will not be booked but i trust him .. hope he keep his good form
Not just Rafael's responsibility, it's not like Ronaldo just stays on the left, he'll go there, play through the middle and pop up to give Evra a torrid time too. He'll be everywhere. Need a full team effort.
agree it has a nice balance on it but as you said is dangerous so I think carrick will play deeper , so it will will more of -------Carrick---Jones------- -----------Kagawa-- Valencia-------------Rooney -----------RVP----------- never been convinced by Kagawa though, hope he shows his skills today and have a great game
indeed he will be a big headache today .. this is why I think UTD will defend in numbers back to deny him space and having more than one player to cover if he passed one
de gea rafael ferdinand evans evra jones carrick welbeck kagawa rooney rvp no vidic? welbeck? big big call..
don't see the logic in having welbeck out there, a striker being played out of position, just play valencia. unless they're being told to rotate amongst them
