I have seen United play Live on TV maybe half a dozen times this season, and every time I have watched them, they have been ****ing awful. Every time I am thinking, "How in the **** are you in second place?"
Crazy isn't it as they're certainly not the 2nd best team in the league. Jose just knows how to get points on the board and totally sacrifices any type of decent football for that. Boring ****e, I'd rather finish 6th and have a go each game. The Sanchez transfer sums him up perfectly. Give him one of (if not the) best player in the league and he'll totally destroy his offensive talent. Some Utd fans actually buy into his bullshit. Utd don't have an identity at all, it's just slow and dull ****e.
Tbf the identity they had was Fergies style, he's not there anymore. From now on their style depends on the style of the manager they appoint. Simple as that.
But we werent like that in 2005 when Jose came to Chelsea. We had exciting games, (our 4-2 win against Barca in the CL comes to mind). Plus our two 1-0 wins against Liverpool in the league were great tactical battles between Jose and Rafa, even though there was only one goal in it, the games were not "hang yourself" boring. This United team is the most pedestrian Jose team I have ever seen him manage. With players like Sanchez, Pogba, Martial etc, too.
If teams got an extra point per winning margin (e.g. extra 2 points for a 3-1 win, extra 4 points for a 4-0 win) then teams would go for it more and you could never be sure until the final game of season who had won or been relegated. Rugby has the right idea for rewarding attacking play.
Take a look back and Utd were flying at the start of the season, Jose is the same as he was with you and shuts shop after Christmas. In a normal season they'd have won the league and in the same manner as he did with you lot where he allows players to play up until a point in the season and then it's grind out results time. It is boring as no ****er cares how good you were at the start of the season it's the business end that fans care about.
Is he ****! I remember in 2005, after we had won the title with like 4 games left, we went to Old Trafford and battered Man United 1-3, when we didnt even need the points.
Semi final......waaaait a minute.....I see where you are going....... Seriously though, no way were we as **** as United have been this season when Jose first came to Chelsea. Or the second time either for that matter (except that time we finished tenth of course).
Do you remember when Joe Cole decided to do a few moves to entertain the crowd at 4-0 and was dropped for months.
