According to Mark Douglas in the Chronicle they are offering a part exchange of playmaker Marcos Llorente and forward Mariano Diaz as well as cash for Sissoko. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ws/newcastle-united-offered-two-real-11692635
They're a couple of youth players nowhere near the first team, not regulars and not players we've scouted out or anything, obviously just a ploy to wangle the price down. Just go for straight cash and milk them for everything we can for the prick, we're picking our own signings and don't need their cast offs.
All depends what Rafa thinks of the players from his time there. Will trust his opinion as I've no idea about either of them. Would want to have an option to buy in any loan if they did come though.
Problem with Real is that they just aren't going to have any players willing to come to the Champ. The only thing I'd tempt them with is a loan for Martin Odegaard, perhaps. Or even a swap.
Leave this to Rafa - he should have a pretty good idea of who is worth pursuing and who is not having recently been in charge. I'd be very interested in taking players he rates, you have to remember these players have great pedigree. It is a cracking youth system which basically gets ignored as they like to buy. Look at the players who have come through it, been flogged and ended up doing well. Arbeloa (Deportivo/Liverpool/Spain), Morata (Juventus/Spain), Valero (Villareal/Fiorentina/Spain), Juanfran (Athletico/Spain), Callejon (Napoli/Spain), Mata (Valencia/Man U/Spain), Jurado (Athletico/Spain), Javi Garcia (Benfica/Man C/Spain), Rodrigo (Benfica/Spain), Carvajal (Leverkusen/Spain) They discard so many players and in some cases then end up buying them back, Morata, Cavajal, Arbeloa all returning. Granted many of them are not established Spanish internationals bar Juanfran, Mata, Mortata - but nonetheless many are very useful. I can't see many fancying the Championship but they may just wanna play. Still they will have better options than Newcastle.
Player swap plus cash deals often get discussed but how often do they actually happen. Trying to rack my brain for an example of one that actually happened but can't think of any.
Andy Cole - £6m + Keith Gillespie Ashley Cole - £5m + William Gallas no others springing to mind though
morning my favorite other club... visiting for mafia. DO NOT TAKE REAL PLAYERS they sent rafa antonio nunez for michael owen in 2004. that lad i am still convinced was a janitor at the bernebau not a footballer
Loan deals for the two players mentioned. I personally don't fancy that. We are not short of numbers and l wonder if these two players came in on loan, who they would keep out of the team? If they are brilliant, we lose them after a season anyhow. We need to offload Sissoko asap, but l was always sceptical about how Real the interest from Madrid was. We need cash or player plus cash, l cannot see any benefit in taking loanees from Real Madrid, except for them that is. There is part of me that wonders if Sissoko will end up having to stay.
Yes I have that feeling too. I`m starting to feel the taste of bile in my mouth as the realisation dawns on me that we might end up stuck with the **** till Jan, God Forbid
It needs to be a good deal but I'm afraid we're beginning to be found out playing hardball for him. He's attracted interest from a number of clubs but none of them are actively fighting for his signature. If he goes for 25-30 million it'll be under what we initially expected, but still better than having him stinking up the dressing room and stealing wages for another year.
