They'd have to do it in the next couple of weeks. Are players going to want to move, maybe De Gea who might want out of the boredom and Hazard out of the doldrums of Chelsea, but it'd cost a hell of alot and that's even if the selling clubs would be willing to let such players go mid season.
Frankly the only option is to try an appeal or stick with what you've got, which in Real's case isn't enough for what they want to do, ie beat Barca to the the title and win the CL.

Its going to hand the next few La Liga's to Barca, who were allowed to escape their ban with clever politics.

yup... if they want whatever players they need to pony up now.

Swapping hazard and whoever or de gea as you said they need to move now.

THe thing about real is its by no means the end of the world with benzema etc etc to play.

atletico might have a bigger issue. will they lose players over the period? did they want costa back?

Depends how long the appeal lasted. The timing of Barcas was in April so by time he appeal got sorted it was already past the summer. They may get the appeal done in the next 4 months so could still be upheld by time summer Windows comes.

Is there provision for extra punishment for frivolous appeals like there are for players' disciplinary procedures?
If not, there should be- stop them messing about.

Anyone who thinks that this will affect Madrid in the summer window doesn't understand the process.

They'll appeal, it'll be rejected, so they'll take it to the court of arbitration for Sport, and this will take about 7-8 months in total. thus taking them into the Summer window. Assuming they don't overturn the ban, it won't take effect until Jan 2017.

    yes.

I hear that zidane's kids are actually in the list of minors that real have supposedly improperly handled

The relative size of fines shows altetico were expecting this but real are shocked.

I think it will go the appeals route.

also every english club should be looking at the list of players being said to be impropoerly affected.

Barca told the 8 or 9 to shove off and we picked up a guy who ended up back at PSG training but was unable to play or register.

there could be a worldie there for someone for free. they all have to go home. 25 chinese kids apparently.

I find it interesting that ballague says Atletico were expecting a worse ban and are all about getting on with it while real are shocked and desperate to get it over turned to splurge.

Fifa have timed this to ensure appeals are before summer to get it over with.

It will be very interesting to see what happens and I think real have to move on one or two now.
