The village pub near where I used to live in West Sussex had no pumps, ale or bitter was poured from the barrel in a back room. Lager was only available in small bottles and I think there was only one option. The food menu was cheese or ham sandwiches on white sliced but only if the landlady was in a good mood.
I remember a pub in Gosport that did the same thing .
My uncle took me when he was in the Navy and at the time I just drank lager .
It was August and the beer was as warm as hell .
Love real ale but not when it's warm

Obviously not doing that well if they haven't been able to afford to redecorate for a century. They should consider getting Stella on tap, the real stuff from Wigan - none of that french rubbish, and might start earning enough for a refurb.
<yikes>

4 for £7 in Asda...
(You can choose quite a few different ones in the offer)
Nice to finish another hot day after the day before...

Decent deal .
Personally bought some pale ales today from Hornsea Heron of all places .
£1 a bottle .
Having a few in Lambwath it seems silly not to carry on toasting yesterday

Plum Porter and the Titantic Stout are both outstanding beers

Fare more character than Guinness, or any of this "Nitro Stout" rubbish doing the rounds

The board top left looks like the contents of Ric Glasgow's wallet. :emoticon-0138-think

It's our time.
Legal tender I'll have you know, not that my mitigation helped me one iota when she explained that there are too many dodgy Scottish and Irish 20's being detected...Infact,the next time I went to the bar she just put it on the machine without asking if it was card or cash?

Never a problem in Ebenezer Morleys, they're happy to take fakes:emoticon-0136-giggl

(Only joking)
