blue monkey, i think jewell's handling of martin was spot on. he was a liability so he gets dropped from the squad and comes back and is now arguably our best player!

I agree Weighty but the performances by Andy Drury and young Luke Hyam have been awesome! We now have a midfield with some real bite through Hyam and Drury popping the ball around when Hyam wins it. Fantastic stuff from these 2 who if they carry on will be up there with Magilton and Holland. That's how much I rate them!

i just can't help but think that PJ could/should be doing more to get in some loan defenders. danny collins is still at stoke not playing so why not get him back? as good as we are playing at the moment 2 good games from delaney and smith doesn;t make our defence tight all of a sudden!

Danny Collins is a non-starter! He started for Stoke against Crawley in the FA Cup game on Sunday <ok>

I take your point though, we are desperate for at least 1 Centre Back.

fair enough, i'm sure theres plenty other centre backs out there not playing who could do a job until the end of the season! find them and get em in PJ!

I have to agree, thats quite a good comparison, except Drury is slightly more dynamic, in that he can run.

Not a fan of Danny Collins. Slow and awful distribution, probably big wages. Better than Smith and Delaney obviously, but not fantastic. Better out there for sure.

I say forget bringing in anyone on loan just carry on with what we have till the summer, i think T. Smith will get better and better as his confidence grows Delaney has done well coming in for Sonko who is back in a few weeks, and if we have to give a youngster a game here and there thats not a bad thing.

All very well Weighty but we desperately need cover at Centre Back. If we pick up 2 injuries we are ****ed!

That's pretty much the case all over the park what if Rocky and Scotland got injured??

If we did get injuries we would deal with it then.

Let's not bring more loanees in. We are performing well with the players that we own and Daryl Murphy looks like he's playing for a contract. Let's just stick with our own unless we loan someone with a view to buying them in the summer.

On the subject of Murphy, how much would he cost and would people want him ?

I'm mixed - he was ALRIGHT away at Coventry when I went, and very good at Pompey. Apparently, he continued being very good at home to Cardiff.

Would he do it over a season ? What would his wages be like ?

I still think we need at least 1 cb on loan, I think its only a matter of time before the defence start making mistakes again!!
