Here's what you can get with an Usmanov type. RA is hell-bent on making Torres work, and to be proven correct for investing in him, even at the expense of the club. How many sane managers would give Torres the benefit of the doubt and start him every game after consistently being ****?
doesn't help that the managers refuse to buy back up for him. i mean, if u sell anelka and drogba (or just let them go) you need to get some type of replacement in. especially if u let lukaku go on loan.
So Chelsea are the first team to ever win a CL and be eliminated the following season in the group stage. And are the first team in 6 years to win the CL and fail to win the CWC. They are showing that they really did not deserve to win the CL last season! Bu it also shows anyone whos in it can win it - so fingers crossed
that's how you play football, good passing movement, good forward play, watching the likes of Athletico and Barca show how bad our football has come. We're so slow, always passing the ball back, barely any good movement.
I think the biggest single problem with Arsenal over the past couple of seasons is the way our play has become much slower. Every team knows that if they lose possession they have got lots of time to just get back and defend. Usually by the time our "attack" has got to their box , all their defenders are nicely back in their positions , then we have to try and pass around it . Look at the way the spuds played against swansea compared to us. We never looked like scoring . But the spuds were very fast in their counter attacks , caught swansea with their pants down and had some success eventually even despite their dodgy passing abilities. Most premiership teams can defend well enough now. The only way to catch them out is by utilising pace. We need to practise moving the ball not just accurately , but quickly . Oh and we could use strikers with boots and not ballet shoes.
I agree with gunner.b.alright, not only do we need to be passing accurately we need to be moving the ball quicly. Players like rosicky, cazorla, wilshere are all capable of doing this and we have the players like Walcott and oxocube (despite recent sub-standard performances) who have the pace to take advantage of this. We need these players to lead by example and dictate the pace we play at. When Diaby was in the team we moved the ball much better and i'm hoping with the midfield players we have available at the moment we can up the tempo again. We have a good string of games to get things clicking properly now and we need to take advantage of this.
Reading are devoid of ideas, confidence and to be honest they must be cacking themselves. They'll be expecting a backlash from your lot after the Bradford match. I know it's impossible in your position to be confident but every neutral would back you lot.
Understatement . I think that Wenger has a lot of pressure on him in this result , if we lose to the bottom of the league team , a LOT of people will lose the faith .
We've played quite a few teams so far devoid of ideas or good play, but still came with only a point, or a loss.
If it were spurs in your position then I'd feel like you do...but Reading are seriously going through a bad patch and that ain't likely to improve. I also think that too much is being made of the Bradford match. Spurs lost to league 2 Grimsby 7 years ago in the same competition....it is never mentioned because we went on to finish 5th in the prem (our best finish at the time). It'll be forgotten as soon as you win a couple of matches.
