Totally agree - we were pinned back after Sylla off - Mackie was out on his legs and Lua Lua struggled to get into the game out on the left.
Sylla looked mightily pissed off at the substitution as well...

Absolutely brilliant performance, didn't know Luongo could play that well and Pawel was worthy man of the match. Not sure Mackie approved tho'
Despite our 28% possession stat, this was much better performance than the classic smash & grab away match and we could have easily added to our tally with 16 shots on goal (to their 9), with 4 on target to their 1.
Very few teams have collected any points when visiting Reading - Villa also beat them, and Gary Rowett on the post-match commentary team, who speaks really well and praised our team performance, mentioned that Brum, under him, also picked up a point with in a 0-0 match. Bit of a crime really that he was dumped for Zola.
Bizarre how Manning was almost left go after what we've seen from him when given the chance. Fair play Holloway.
I don't think you can even call it smash and grab. We had a plan and it countered theirs effectively. They hit the bar but did Smithies have to make a serious save? Going forward we looked miles better than we have for ages, aided by their sloppiness in midfield.
I'm quick enough to have a go at Holloway when he gets it wrong so he deserves to be recognised for getting it very right.

Jamie Mackie scored the winner against his old club Reading to give QPR their third consecutive Championship victory.
In an otherwise drab first half, Mackie was left unmarked at the back post to lash home from Ryan Manning's touch.
The Royals piled forward after the break but struggled to create openings, with Idrissa Sylla having two goalbound shots blocked for the visitors.
Jaap Stam's side almost equalised when Yann Kermorgant headed Garath McCleary's cross against the bar.
The R's are now up to 15th place, eight points clear of the relegation zone, but third-placed Reading missed the chance to close the gap on leading pair Brighton and Newcastle.
Mackie's goal is his first since suffering ankle ligament damage in training, which kept him out for eight months.
Only Newcastle have secured more points at home this season, but Garath McCleary's half-volley over the bar was the closest Reading came before a late surge.
It could have been worse for the Royals as goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi rushed off his line and looked to make contact on the edge of his area with QPR midfielder Pawel Wszolek, who stayed on his feet.
The result means Ian Holloway's side have completed back-to-back wins on the road for the first time since August 2015.
Reading meanwhile are still yet to win a league match on a Thursday since December 1991, drawing three and losing six since.

"It's disappointing, but we need to be realistic as just because we're playing QPR at home, it's not going to be an easy win.
"You want to win games at home, but you're playing against a side that defended really well and came out strong on the counter-attack.
"We lost the ball too much in the first half and they capitalised and scored. After that, they sat deeper.
"We need to be patient and make the right choices on the ball in those situations. We did that better in the second half, but it's hard not to give away more chances when you're chasing the game like that."

Absolutely this. Aimless possession, pretty passing when you've nowhere to go, is the square root of naff all. JFH taught us that if nothing else. Going into the Wolves game our possession stats were 52% over the season for all the good it did us. We're finally going into games with an actual plan and making the most of what we've got. This is the first time in ages I can actually say I'm looking forward to the next game.
yeah agree Watford Hollow got it spot on. The players were great. We still lack that leader/quality but Ollie said after that he has that sorted.
