Cheers Col, circumstances conspired against me today so didn't even get the benefit of the rare live stream. Probably a decent point come the end of the season, but our inability to score more than one or two at most is getting rather predictable and puts a lot of pressure on the back 5 - which they have responded to magnificently to date.
We really could have been 3 up after 15 mins mate and 4 up at half time. Their keeper played a blinder. Must start to take these chances.
From where I was sat (at home, although a fair amount of pacing around was involved) I'd have said that Phillips was better than Hoilett. Anything in particular make you mark him down mate? He looked more potent to me.
I saw it the other way round. Time and again Phillips had the chance to take on the isolated full-back, but for some reason, he just wouldn't. He did alright, but Hoilett looked far more threatening and was unlucky with 2 superb shots on goal. Especially in the first half, when he looked a constant threat. I don't remember Phillips doing that. Although Hoilett always seems to get injured!
I'd be interested to know how many crosses they each put in. I'd reckon that Phillips would have twice the number that Hoilett did. I'm old fashioned, that is what a winger should do in my opinion, not always look to cut in and shoot.
You could be right.......Hoilett certainly got much closer to providing a goal. I'm really not convinced about Phillips. What did you make of Krancjar?
Krancjar didn't really get into the match. Unfortunately that is the first time I've really seen him for us and he didn't show at all, but it is worth remembering that he is just returning from injury. Hopefully he will turn it on against Charlton.
I have to agree with the Sky commentator who said someone is going to get a thrashing from us soon, one day it will all click and God help the team who end up on the wrong end of it...
Can't be said about everyone's golden boy Kranjcar though can it? He has a lot to do to convince me that he should start when everyone is available.
I watched the game on sky in a pub with some reading fans and they thought we were by far the better team Simply put we were Their keeper got them a point and nothing wrong with our efforts apart from the frustration we didn't score You can't criticise our will to win or any of the players sounds like not picking to me ... That's football and I agree that reading will beat a fair fees teams there this season We will it by 10 points
TBH it is not a huge problem as long as we don't conceed too many, I would be content with 1-0 & 2-1's for the rest of the season. The only reason Reading didn't conceed 5 for the 2nd week running was because their keeper played a blinder (again), he seems to always play well against us....... I agree with Sooper we will tonk someone soon because we are a good side......
