He said it's because he dislikes the Allams and doesn't want us to get promoted. It makes more sense to hope for promotion so that the Allams will sell.
Burnley play on Friday without us playing before then and we are 8 points behind them. I don't see how we can be one point above them. That's the part I don't understand.
Right, I'm confused now. Its boro that will play on the Friday before the Bolton game. Anyway, I was dreaming. Basically its the playoffs
Let's face it, two out of the three teams at the top have to go on dreadful runs and we have to go on a fantastic run for us to get an automatic place. It's not going to happen.
Eyup, Scarb. Your anger is understandable, your chosen action equally so, but there seems to be other things to consider. Cheating the concession system appears to have been thought acceptable by whole groups of the supporter base and that has surprised me - the odd knobhead aye, but it seems to have been socially acceptable, for groups. Maybe it isn't the Allams who have compromised concessions? OLM, who we both read and, I believe, pretty much respect, is hinting, probably as much as he is able, that other factors are at play. How significant they are I have no idea. If there is a mind set in the club that kids don't matter then we need to change that and there is more chance of doing that if the owners leave - a well attended, viable club will make that more possible than the opposite. Maybe you staying away won't change or help anyone change anything; but I understand that might not be the key issue for you. Some say football is a drug and I think that for many that is right. But, having known you (on boards) over what, eight years (?), I have seen how your passion, shared with your juniors, has given you a huge positivity, a real zest for life; I am sure others have, too. So how much of the football drug is a passion that is also a medicine? Think hard and long before you throw that medicine in the bin, or cut down the dosage. I don't think anyone of us would think any less of you if you held strong views but still attended the games you can get to. Keep well.
If we win all our four games left we will be on 88 points and if the top three mess up we will most likely have the best goal difference. Middlesbrough will need three points from three games to beat us and Brighton and Burnley will need five points from three games to beat us.
have those slating the Humberside commentary for talking about activities away from football ever listened to Alan Brazil breakfast on talk sport? spends half the show arranging his next night out, even this morning did a feature on Ray Parlours career, spent 2 minutes asking him about the 93 cup semi final with Spurs, then 10 minutes asking him which pubs he went out in to celebrate
genuinely think you may be alone in this feeling about Merrington.....best commentary of the season to listen to!
You're being lazy again, interrupting without doing any reading. Go back and you will find the conversation was about celebrating Burnley, from a post originally made by Brucebones. Filey was supporting his Mac Nurse.
You keep saying that but if we go up there's about 100 million plus the parachute payments even if we do worse than Derby did a few years ago. That will keep the Allams from selling. Second, its much cheaper to buy a championship club, invest a bit then go up and get the riches. To buy a premier League club costs loads more money and the risk of relegation if you don't keep spending.
He is very annoying, I think he would be more professional than somebody like Peter Swan if he ever did a match commentary though. Burns is OK when he is not with Swan
