Following on from CITYfiley... It's obvious the Allams have counted their chickens with the membership scheme. Counted their chickens as when we looked like autos for the Prem, they wheel it out. Once again, idiots. Perversely, I really don't want City to go up now. Just to see the Allams next move...
So now the autos are pretty much gone, Bruce avoids his chats with Humberside? Time to wheel it out... please log in to view this image Where's that "it's our fault" thread...
I love Reading away Home already . Great result but a dire game at least settled by amoment of magic. Sh1t home support but maybe we have seen what the future holds for us if we do not.go up this season. How dare we sing about empty seats!!!!
what a **** - first of all he moans about the fans not getting behind the team - so what does he do - refuses to speak to the fans
Robertson really needed that goal, his confidence was lower than low hopefully this will lift him. Good trip out and great away support as always
Why doesnt the club just cut off the fans completely. PS That Merrington bored the living ****ing daylights out of me. Hope its the last time.
Perhaps if RH didn't give so much time to a match involving two non league teams and a club that have no chance of reaching the Play Offs in their own league instead of bigging up the achievement that this areas biggest professional club HAVE achieved it, then, and only then, might they have found the air time to interview the manager. Also Dave Merrington was excellent as a summeriser tonight, a proper football man who knew his stuff and a man who gave City more praise in 90 mins then Dave Burns has managed all season.
Not sure why people keen for us not to go up when the best way to get rid of the Allams is with promotion.
ROBERTSON WINNER ENSURES TIGERS PLAY OFF PLACE This was much more like it. A come from behind two one victory over a combative Reading side ensures a play off spot at the very least. Again, Steve Bruce rang the changes; Maguire in for Bruce, no place for Livermore, who wasn’t even on the bench, and Diomande and Hernandez upfront. Maloney played from the start in a four four two formation. The worst possible start left the Royals in front after just four minutes. A routine cross from Norwod found Jake Cooper unmarked, and he buried his header. City buckled down to their task, and Huddlestone in particular put Reading under pressure. Huddlestone had a couple of chances blocked, and then on the seventeenth minute unleashed an inch perfect through ball to Hernandez who slid the ball under the Reading keeper’s body. The Tigers dominated the remainder of the first half creating chances for Huddlestone (again), Diomande and Snodgrass. City were well on top as the half time whistle blew, and you sensed there was more to come. Hayden came on for Meyler in the fifty fifth minute, as City put on the pressure. Kermogan’s introduction briefly rejuvenated Reading, and he had a header well saved by McGregor. The two sides were cancelling each other out, and a hard earned draw looked to be on the cards. And then along came Andy Robertson. A delightful through ball from Huddlestone(who else?)a dummy run from Maloney, and Robertson raced through the Reading defence and fired an unstoppable shot from twenty yards. A justifiable reward for the Tigers faithful who cheered their team on throughout. Great support, great supporters. City are now guaranteed a play off spot, but automatic promotion is still possible, albeit unlikely. More importantly, the team are showing signs of increased confidence and assurance at just the right time. Bring on Leeds. Should be quite a game!
Any updates on Livermore? Was he injured? Seems strange to drop out all together even from the bench.
Sounds like he was rested. My phone auto corrected to tested and almost hit send before picking it up - whoops!
Maybe Swann does talk too much non-football at times but he really understands football. He gets asked his opinion and he says it exactly how it is in a few words.
