Don't worry - this isn't a rant about not being able to get tickets!


First of al - just wanted to alert people to the fact that the Reading ticket news is up - I know a lot of people are keen to get to this one if they can - prevoius seasons have been brilliant with us filling the entire South Stand there (not sure that will still be possible this year?)

How has everyone found the new system for away tickets?

At the start of the season there were a lot of grumbles about it, but recently I've not heard any, and we still seem to be taking good away followings to games and making lots of noise there!

Do you think it's working?
Does it still need a bit of tweaking?
Or a complete re-think?
 
I would have gone to this if it wasn't on the tv.

The system is working, but I wish you could find out how many loyalty points you have ... right now you can't/
 
I can't go to Readimg this season and I am gutted. I went to Reading last season and the support we took there was epic.
 
Think the loyalty system is good, but it means I probably won't be able to get tickets for this. Praying it lasts until all ST holders but doubtful...
 
Saints giving all season ticket holders a £2 discount on their tickets. Advertised at £42 on Reading's site, but Saints asking for £40 from STH's.

Did anyone else go in November 2008 when Reading hadn't lost at home all season and somehow we won 2-1 with a Wright-Phillips brace? One of the few highs from that season!
 
Slightly OT but is anyone doing the St Mary's to Mad Stad charity cycle??
 
Got my tickets. Maybe I'm missing something but loyalty points have not counted all season, just league away games attended, which means the loyalty points you got for Sheffield Weds at home or Leeds away haven't counted for anything?
 
It's working for sure. i think alot of the peoples problem was how the fixtures panned out at the start of the season.

me for example. wanted to goto Man City away could not afford too go
Then after was arsenal, which i could afford but couldnt get a ticket due to not attending the city game.

it seems a very large number of lets say 'fair weathered' fans went to city & arsenal.
and the likes of me, who's been all around the country every year with the saints (prem, championship, league1)
could not get tickets due to this point system being in place.

but i think it's how the fixture list was, had man city & arsenal been in the middle of the season, it prolly would have been easy to get a ticket, but hey ho.
 
They are not using a points system just counting the away games. If you remember man c was awarded an extra 5 points for going, but that means FA. I didn't go to city as I was in Dublin, but can still get tickets at the same time as my mate who did as we have both done over 5 games.

I wonder if it'll all start again next season, or will it roll over.

I didn't go to man city, but went to Arsenal.
It took 4 hours to queue at St Mary's. Despite the loss I'm pleased I took the half day off work to get them as they were just £25 for an adult.
The reading price is absolutely scandalous. Who the hell do they think they are? I thought Saints prices were high

I fully agree, the Reading tickets are very expensive - i went and got mine and my sons yesterday and it cost £60 ! For us to go to Wigan it was £25 in total ! I still bought them as we go to as many away games as poss, and due to work i wont get to many more away games this season - but it is a heck of price for a team of Readings standing.
 
Yeh £40 for Reading. Arsenal being £25 makes that £40 figure a joke.

One more reason for Reading to be relegated back to where they belong.

I don't think I can go Dan; want me to get tickets for you as I'll probably qualify early (5/6 away games).
 
One thing I don't agree with is that while I have been to West Brom, Villa, Newcastle, Norwich and QPR, I am still behind the pecking order for ST holders who haven't been to one away game this season. The order should be:

1. ST holders who have been to 5 away games (for example)
2. Non ST holders who have been to 5 or more away games
3. All ST holders
4. Non ST holders who have been to 1 away game.
5. General sale.
 
I think St Mary's favours a system of giving preference to supporters who have spent the most money on average priced tickets, and that's the way to go.

I was there, also remember the 9/1 odds on us winning that day and the cheeky tenner that I put down!
