Adkins is still employed by Saints apparently. He's on gardening leave. Probably to stop exactly this happening.
This really is the owner clutching at straws.....should have spent money in January improving squad...didn't spend much if anything and is now blaming manager for their problems.....he always comes across as a genuine person when interviewed....hopefully this is the final nail in their relegation coffin...
Saints would want the exact opposite. Theyd love for him to take the job so they dont have to pay the rest of his contract. I think they are too far gone with their run in.
Bizarrely, there is no thread on the Reading board about this as yet. Bit slow I would think unless they are just shell shocked.
Because their forum is a 'ghost town' normally. Funny i am watching SSN and a Reading fan has just tweeted that 'he wants Hughes because he plays good attacking football'! Classic They do have deluded fans? maybe before tweeting he should have looked at our goals scored under hughes?
He may well play good attacking football (for the ManU Old Boys Under-50's) but sadly any team he manages doesn't...
That's because all the Not 606 Reading members are right now on Royals Rendezvous, where it's absolutely mad I can assure you. Anyway, I've put that right, there's now a thread up. Don't mind you guys laughing, but keep it sociable, OK?!!
Talksport reckon DiCanio was at Reading on Saturday. It doesn't matter who they appoint, they're by far the weakest team in the League and they'll finish bottom. It's fair to say our two wins have probably hastened McDonut's demise...
Adkins No but then he is a 'yes man' so will fit in well. Thought he was still payed by saints? Di Matteo needs better players to work with. (did you see that ex Sheff Utd striker fall over against Villa)? Parkinson would be good at Reading but not now. DC from Swindon maybe? Maybe even Roberts until the end of the season? Cannot work this one out.....should never has sacked matt Lucus.
Indeed, Mark Hughes is third favourite to be our next manager: http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/qpr/next-permanent-manager Edit: Make that equal second favourite...
Your suggestion of a manager who took his team to champions league final and won it taking over reading, I've never heard such nonsense
If this isn't the most pointless sacking of the season, I don't know what is. Minimal preparation for life in the Prem plus zero ongoing transfer budget = relegation. He's done his best, with what seems to me like minimal backing. Reading have played some attractive football going forward this season but have been horribly exposed at the back. Good luck to whoever takes over, and keep looking over your shoulder...
