That sounds amazing - and an hugely jealous of you right now. Be sure to stop off at a few greasy spoons too - they look awful but the food is usually pretty great. Plus truckers are some of the unknowingly funniest people you could meet. Oh and and maybe do a bit of scouting out there. It can't be worse than what we have
I wrote to KM to explain my reasons for not renewing. I received a reply; she was sorry that I'd made such a decision but felt confident in seeing me return once the plan started to bear fruit. See you in 2029, KM.
My immediate reaction was that it was an arrogant reply. But on reflection, I'm actually suprised she bothered to take an interest at all in a letter from one of the peasants who still freely roam the Valley. You must 'ave slipped 'er a sheckle or something.
She did not address your reasons for not renewing, did she? It reads like an automated response to me.
My concerns were not directly addressed, no, but I suppose KM's devotion to the 'plan' is a roundabout way of saying, 'I know what I'm doing, and you'll soon be eating humble pie for doubting me.' But I won't be eating humble pie. Not a for a long time, anyway. If the 'plan' does bear fruit, it's a plan that fails to inspire me. With the previous mob in charge we knew we'd be scratching about in the bargain basement, and there was a certain acceptance to that type of ownership, yet this current hierarchy is classless, clueless and, like KM herself, one big turn off.
Every year they make the same mistakes, while claiming to have learnt not to! I also doubt you'll be eating humble pie about this one, at least, not because of anything these people do. The sad thing is, we are owner by a multi millionaire, but we continue to eke out a living on the fringes of the network. I remember getting called out on CL when RD sold Standard. There were quite a few on there who thought we would become the network flag ship, cheerfully forgetting that the Standard fans were utterly disatisfied with their own experience as the Network no. 1. RD may have had some sort of affection for Standard Liege, but for us he feels about as much affection as a doctor experimenting on embryo research feels for the emryos he uses to experiment with. It's an experiment for him. Some people collect stamps or rare vinyl recordings. RD colleccts second class football teams, and maintains them where they are.
The Bottom Line of any successful football club in history is that personnel are recruited on merit and ability, whether that be the CEO, manager, scouts or players. At Charlton under Douche Bag, the CEO, manager(s), scouts and players are not recruited on merit and ability.
Good article from Kevin Nolan, who is Charlton through and through. http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/a...sperate scrap§ionIs=sport&searchyear=2015
