What hurt? My point was you and many others went as it was a Premiership team, not because we see the FA cup as important. I don't like the FA cup, hence why I didn't want to attend.
No doubt FHB, it sounded like a great day had by all. I just now hope we can go and get a result in Sheffield.. Then it will have been worth missing.
I wouldn't say I'm 'not a fan' of the cup, but in the overall scheme of things I don't see it as being important. As Chrissy suggests, its this Saturdays game which is the real priority (suprisingly still under 1000 tickets sold I believe). Lets hope we get a good amount buying in the next few days and turning up on the day and we can make a real atmosphere to match what will be an important game.
1,100 tickets sold - I expect there to be 1,500 come Saturday. It would have been nice for 2k, but 1) it's the best following we have taken there in years and 2) it's that awkward time of the year because of Christmas.
I'd take a point on Saturday gladly, but would want to fight for 3 against the Blades so probably wouldn't take the point if you offered me that for the home game. Not sure who'll be on the bench Saturday if we haven't re-signed Cort by then, as looks likely. Doherty?! Russell vs Pritchard debate... despite Pritchard's good showing Saturday he still looked lightweight... and whilst he's not the best player in the team I think it's no coincidence we played our best football (and got our best results) with Hughes alongside Hollands, he gives Hollands the chance to play forward, where he's the most effective attacking midfielder we have. Wednesday are unfortunately the kind of team we struggle against, physical and big, on the evidence of the game at the Valley. Same as Stevenage. Still wouldn't change the back 5, though!
I'll be there on Saturday as well - got a half day off tomorrow to do my normal weekend stuff and just bought enough crisps and cornflakes to keep me going until I get paid again... Really don't want to miss this one, as my little shunt caused me to miss the Blades game. A win on Saturday would be immense, not just in points terms but also psychologically as it would mean that we'd beaten the three top chasing clubs. Looking forward to seeing Hillsborough again - one of the great original football stadia.
Very good news tewkes. I think the build up to the game will have us all as tense as can be. It feels there is a lot more riding on it than when we played 'udders. For me personally it's the biggest game since Leeds and Oldham the season before last. And before that? Spurs at home as we were relegated to the prem.
And it's the biggest game until the bigger Sheffield club visits the Valley. Great news that you'll be making it, Tweakes.
Completely agree re the Sheffield clubs- it's purely as we are the away team on sat. Always has me more tense. Still think we will get a point. Minimum.
Have faith we played wednesday earlier in the season drew and they were pants theyve shipped 6 at stevenage...we are the team in league 1 wednesday very average a draw is the least we can expect. Our midfield runs rings around theres ad no one in their side would get into ours have faith boys.
It will be quite a strange Saturday for me. Due to a family arrangement I'll be at Fratton Park watching Portsmouth Vs. Wham. I'll be with a Southampton fan who will no doubt be hoping wham win but will have to keep quiet being probably in the home end. Can't see them having the League 1 scores so I'll have to rely on texts from FHB jnr.
http://www.teamtalk.com/league-one/7425572/Owls-land-Bury-star-Jones I've read good things about him, but does this suggest Ben Marshall won't be returning? If so, that will be a huge loss to them. I wonder if Megson will opt for jones tomorrow, seeming he will be a full time owls player.
No but Saturday could be his last game http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-wednesday/ben_bids_to_go_out_on_a_high_1_4137640
