Like many Chelsea fans I am shocked by RDM's sacking this morning. While most of us knew that he was going to go at some stage, the sacking at this point in time tells us more about RA's anger and power than it does about RA's concern about the welfare of the club in the champions league and the premiership. Chelsea still has a chance to qualify.

4 points off the top with the league leaders at home up next, still in all comps and can still qualify for the champs league knockouts.
After last season what more does a manager have to do to earn a bit of loyalty and time. Abramovich is a ****ing idiot. Utterly clueless. Hope Chelski crash and burn.

feel bad for you guys....Instability is the worst thing to have at a club. Even if you are losing as long as the whole setup is a unit you can feel some comfort that you will improve and get out of there.
My question to you is simple:
Given that Guardiola has been spoken about for Chelsea next summer and Mourinho is suposed to be leaving Real in the summer.......Who would you rather have?

The strange thing is that he wants Pep (apparently) but he is not available until next year (again apparently). Surely RDM could do the job until the Summer, not as if you are in any danger of not qualifying, or getting relegated.
Shocking decision, I feel very sorry for you Chelsea fans.
This could really affect your season, do you think your players are going to perform for a manager that's only going to be here for half a season? I doubt it, I think RA could've at least waited until the end of the season, I can only think whoever he has lined up (Pep?) has already agreed to take charge right away.
I hope RDM gets a decent payoff, puts his feet up & relaxes a while, and then gets a club where he excels.

Personally I think Luiz would make an awesome defensive midfielder, with licence to bomb forward a few times a match (but then Mikel or someone should drop back and cover for him obviously).
Does the russian know what "transition" means?
If I were Pep I wouldn't go near Chelsea after this. Going out in the early stages of CL is not good but that is what happens when you try to play a new kind of football.
Chelsea has amazing offensive players now and not a very good defence. This crisis was bound to happen before the team would start to gel and perform better but the russian doesn't have a clue.

Maybe the club thinks it is an easier sell to get rid of him now when results have bombed rather than wait till the summer when he may have done a good job over the course of the season. Ultimately we all knew this would come, just earlier than expected (and due to the inevitable C.L exit).
Rubbish. AVB was brought in to do a different job for the future of the club. Yes, he made mistakes, but every manager does. - that's football. He, just like RDM, wasn't given enough time to make things work in his own way. Both sackings were disgusting for different reasons. you can't say that AVB wouldn't have "turned it round", that's just pure guesswork. Don't really understand the bit about RDM turning it round? AVB's average stats were better than RDM's last season. So could it not be said that if he'd carried on and continued with those averages, he might have also achieved what RDM did? RDM managed to get the CL glory and an FA cup. One could argue that those results came on the back of AVB's hard work, which started to pay off when RDM took over. But at the same time that's guess work as well, and it's not fair to suggest that either, as it undermines RDM's success in such a short period of time. -we'll never know.
One this is for sure, managers just need time.
Oh, and the majority of us spurs fans are open minded about AVB. We're not letting the "chelsea fiasco" impact on his time with us. Today's unfair sacking is a prime example of why we can't do that. (not to mention the fact that we haven't had a full, injury free squad to pick from all season.)

Everyone might think that Guardiola might be the man, but CP makes for some very valid points. What if he doesn't last either, because RA loses his patience again? Then who?
I honestly feel bad for you guys as fans who pay money. It's totally unfair. More so in this instance, as a Chelsea legend has been treated very very poorly.
I didn't think RDM was the man for the job but they gave it to him and while he's made mistakes - it took Lamp's injuries to give us the Ramires-Mikel partnership which looks more solid, and persisting with Luiz in a CD role instead of puttin Ivan in there - he has also been unlucky with Torres not firing and having no replacement for him. I assume he didn't have a say in the summer signings. But even so it's not as if we're in the relegation zone and there's a chance - slight I know - of still getting out of the group stage.
There are things to be fixed still - Mata, Hazard, Oscar play lovely football but with too little end product cos our "strikers" are sh1t. But sacking RDM is crazy.

Win the champions league and 6 months later sacked!, when Bob stokoe won us the f a cup if he got sacked even 10 years later the owner/director would have had to flee this country, and he was born in Newcastle, but do we care?. Mark hughes is still at QPR (i feel sorry for him though) and i believe he has spent as much as Chelsea in the summer.
RDM was second choice in the summer. He went all out to get Guardiola, expected it, but it didn't happen. Roman had to give it to RDM as he won the Champions League. The fact he only gave him a 2 year deal and it took so long to appoint shows that he wasn't the ideal choice. This is just an excuse to get rid of somebody he had to appoint, despite not really wanting to.

Roman Abramovich came to Chelsea 10 years ago and in that time they've won 3 league titles including a double, 4 FA cups, 2 league cups and the Champions league. That's not a bad return and therefore whilst you can criticise his approach it's yielding big rewards. I must admit i'm baffled that he wastes so much money - every sacked manager must get a huge pay off and then the new one gets a decent transfer kitty. Still, it's his cash.
I do think it's a shame for di Matteo because he is a legend at Chelsea and comes acoss as a thoroughly decent bloke.

To be clear on my point... The way we keep going theres no stability... We win cause we spend, a lot. and have done for a while. Without us having spent a lot most seasons, we would not be nearly as succesful. Thus if we carry on, when RA stops spending as he will need to spend less at some point, our success would drop.
I want a club that can have self sustained success for years to come. united manage it with a crappy team on paper. Man United are andw ill always be a long term success Chelsea wont with how the club is run.

I predicted, pre-season, and repeated it many times, including as late as last night, that RDM was in a two-horse race with Roy Rodgers as to which one of them would be the first high-profile sacking.
And can any of you truly be surprised at this? Honestly? We could all tell that RDM only got the job because he got lucky by winning the CL. He ought to have been sacked on his appalling EPL form (for which AVB appears to have taken all of the blame). The mad Russian gave in to sentiment, something that he normally ignores, and you can bet your bottom dollar that he'll be fuming with himself that he listened to what the fans wanted, rather than do what he will know in his own heart he should have done, which is not to have appointed RDM, in the first place.
I feel sorry for RDM, because he seems like a genuinely nice bloke, but he knew what he was getting himself into, and I dare say he will be handsomely rewarded for it.
