Going back a few years ago we lived in an old rectory, we were there for twelve years and only ever had one rat in the house, 'twas a big ****er though, scurrying around in the dining room, and hid behind floor standing cabinets when I went in. I let two of my dargs in, a German Shepard and a Cocker Spaniel, the Spaniel moved it out from behind the cabinet at which point the GS immediately picked the ****er up and you could hear it's back break as she bit down onto it, and then she threw it up up into the air like she was celebrating.

I miss those two dogs, but I'll never forget them.

RIP Lizzy and Max <rose><peacedove> <rose><peacedove>

Our rat made a second appearance when I was en route into town one Saturday morning.

My daughter rang me to inform me he had just scurried into the kitchen from the dining room and that my better half had seen it and that they were now barricaded in our bedroom with our dog.

I went home and looked for it but it had gone back behind the kick board and down it’s freshly gnawed hole in the floorboard.

I asked her indoors how Charlie, our dog, had reacted when he saw it.

He did sweet FA apparently, he was lolling about on the sofa in the kitchen at the time and couldn’t be arsed to even make a token effort to scare the little bastard.

Just watched it and didn’t budge.

I’ve convinced myself he just never saw it.

I was up in Murmansk once and went to check fish in a cold store, and saw the biggest rat I've seen, and with long hair. The guy told me they come into the coldstore as the temperature is warmer minus 20 than it was outside minus 35.

Probably a daft question, but why did they have a 'cold' store?

It sounds like they had plenty without having to stock pile it?

My little lass - Patterdale cross (Fell Terrier?) - did that throwing-in-the-air thing too. One day she went sniffing around in the garage, there was a scream and the rat came full toss out of the open door; she caught it before it hit the ground: CLAMP!

All over...

I don't think there's a dog that doesn't/wouldn't do this Stan. Apart from carmines little foo foo obviously.

I think Carmine must have a cat then

That actually made me LOL.

Nearly ROFL.
It's from Choirboys, it's a book by Joseph Wambaugh.
One of the first x films I saw at pictures. Bout 80 81 time.
It was ****ing brilliant. I've never seen it since.
Want to see it again but sort of worried it'll be crap and ruin my memories of crying with laughter.

Any need?
Sorry princess.

Seriously on the topic

Rats are ****s and seems a downside to living in the shires.

We now have 2 9 week old ginger kittens. Who are mental.

I wanted to call them Cabbage and Wee.

Missus wasn’t having that.

I have a horrible feeling they’re gonna be efficient rodent hunters. Who will bring them back to show us. Still alive.

I have just re visited the second sighting of rattus rattus with her indoors and she has reassured me that Charles never saw the ****house, otherwise he’d have done the ****er in three seconds flat.

He looks like a mini Cane Corso and is twice as hard.

Our Cats only did that with Mice. Stood on a bastard on the landing once, in the dark and in my bare feet. I knew what it was even before I turned the light on. No head.

Rats were different. When they saw a Rat they ended it very quickly.

Cats know Rats are ****s.
