Cortese will be planning and we must not forget that we have another great prospect in Targett. If he is any way near as good as Luke the Don may decide to cash in if we are made a ridiculous offer..
Cortese won't sell Luke at the moment...he is very important to our team and Nicola feels very strongly that we should not be seen as a selling team. If we were in Man U's position this year and Colin Murray said to Lawro 'Saints are looking good for the title', Lawro would quickly snap 'They won't win it'. It's not just him, nor lazy journalism. It's quite understandable really that pundits can't see past the big money teams. Even Everton are seen as very unlikely to be able to hold onto their stars so why would they think that Saints could? Cortese's statements are purely that and many chairman make bold statements. We have to hope that they can be fulfilled
