Just from watching the highlights, I'd say that Ryan Bennett was at fault for two of Suarez's goal, on both occasions sitting off the little rat-faced tw*t, allowing him a free shot (admittedly, you wouldn't have expected him to shoot for the 1st one). The 2nd goal was as much Bassong's fault for not tracking Gerrard, and allowing the ball to go straight into the 6 yard box as it was Rusty, although he should have spent less time clinging to Suarez shirt and more time attacking the ball. The free kick was a mysterious decision as it looked like Gerrard had committed a foul, not been fouled, but the free-kick was superb. 5th goal brilliantly created by little Ratface.
Our goal was well set up by Redmond and well taken by Bradley but as usual no highlights of any other City attacks.

just seen the highlights myself, yes R Bennett should have not stood off suarez twice. definitely an error from Ryan.
Thought ruddy could have done better with sterling's goal, but couldn't do much with the suarez goals. he made some other good saves including a tip over from Allen.
we had a few attacks, seb heading over, a few weak shots from redmond (christ he needs to improve his shooting or pass, it's dire), a free kick from redmond straight at mignolet. it wasn't all bad, suarez was just amazing.

If Snoddy isn't available then Redmond should definitely be on the right. He put some mean balls in from that side against Palace and had a big hand in the goal. I'd much rather see him running down the line and putting in a cross rather than cutting inside and blazing over.

I think Redmond should play both wings, swappping whenever he feels like doing so.

As much is pains me to say it I think Rusty needs to be 'rested' for the next couple of games but unfortunately at least one of him and Bassong have to play every match because they have the captaincy. I think Turner has been the best central defender for us this season so should play instead of Bennett.

What did everyone think of Olsson? I was impressed with him against Palace but I think he slacked off a lot last night, time for Garrido to get another chance?

I think Olsson has done plenty previous to keep his place in the team.

I'd play Bassong and Bennett at the back

I'd have Redmond just stay on the right and way up the pitch, or not play him at all, he's total **** on the left.

I'd have Hooper up front with Hoolahan going anywhere he wants.

That leaves 3 defensive central midfielders to chop and change who advances as the game develops with Olsson probably being our best attacking threat this season I'd stick him in midfield with Fer and Johnson. I'd have Johnson in the middle because he's slow. Fer to the right of him.

I don't get why people rate Hoolahan. He's not a premier league quality player. Good Championship player out of his league in the premier league. Although to be fair once in a blue moon he steps up a level. Squad player maybe first 11 starter No.

I agree that Redmond is more effective on the right, but I would move Olsson up to WL in the absence of Pilks because he has the ability and pace to track back when the ball is lost (something Redmond and Murphy do not do very effectively as yet). That would leave space for three out of Hoolahan, Fer, Howson and Johnson in midfield. Unlike CC, I feel that Hoolahan is the best link player we have to give Hooper the chances he needs.

Well, he's been playing in the Prem for more than two seasons, and on the whole doing rather well at it. What are your arguments? 'He's not a premier league quality player' is a statement, not an argument.

I wasnt really looking to start an arguement just giving my view. Just because he's been part of a squad thats been in the premier league for 2 years doesn't really in my mind make him a premier league quality player. He's been good for us, but I think hid usefulness has passed & if we are to continue to develop as a club I think it's time he was moved on and replaced by better quality. My main issue with him & I've said this before is consistence. Yes he occasionally has a very good game, but in other games he seems to go missing in action. i.e Palace game played well, Liverpool game was he on the pitch? Its very rare that he puts in a shift without playing well. Trouble is I don't think he has enough good games, Hence my comment squad player maybe, first 11 starter No.

This. They should have taken turns kicking the little turd into the air, taking a booking each, until he wasn't so keen to get on the ball and run at us for fear of another rogering. Would have ended up 1-1 then.

It's nothing less than he deserves anyway. I see nothing wrong with this tactic if it works, and certainly wouldn't think twice about using it. We're all used to scoucer tears anyway...

I think Ruddy's chances of a world cup call-up just plummeted, Suarez would have a field day.

I think playing Wes was a mistake. Yes he was awesome against palace, but playing away to possession teams like Liverpool virtually makes him redundant, not to mention when we do occasionally get the ball, giving it straight back trying to be clever doesn't give the defence much respite. Get josh Murphy on one wing, Redmond on the left, gives us an outlet when under the cosh, and are players that can scare defences and get the ball up the park quickly on the break. Should have done thus in the last 20 minutes against palace too IMO.
