He got homesick, I'm pretty sure. It happens.

Yeah, the drinking rumour I always thought might be overdoing it. He's a regular Norwegian international, as said, and Europa-level player - he's hardly going to come straight in and turn up hammered to training for his first week. It would take a while to eke that out, and if he was, why didn't the black box detect it?

Falque also could have been a problem of attitude - a player who feels he is better than a drop down to the Championship? Pure guesswork, but are countless variables with football players.

I think Forren and Falque pre-date the Black Box.

Was he an Adkins signing? If so that may explain it. Adkins made a couple of 'interesting' signings.

I don't think it was his footballing ability that kept him out of the team, more so his drinking ability. He didn't seem to settle here, was homesick and a drunk if rumours are to be believed. Falque was a strange one I agree, it's possible that he just didn't suit the more physical league.

He seemed to have been well enough settled to have a group of hangers on.
My son and his partner both work in casinos, and on one occasion there was an incident/request for credit that needed the input of a senior member of staff.
My son's partner asked him for his name, and got the "You don't know who he is" **** from his band of groupies.
She asked him again, for his name, to which he replied "It's Forren."
Her response was "It doesn't matter if your name is foreign, I still need it to help you."
True story.

It doesn't really matter who's signing Forren was. He's a good player and should have been playing games.

Falque was a loan in the championship season, so that's nearly four years ago. Pretty ridiculous to criticise the club based on his performances now in a different country.

Only really one comment to add. Juanmi looked very much improved on Wednesday - he's much more solid and the training in staying on his feet is really working. He looked creative, hardworking and diligent. I hope to see much more of him in future.

Isn't it wonderful to have players whom you rate who may have difficulty getting into the starting line-up? Our team used to pick itself pretty much but RK is beginning to have choices to make.

I liked Toby....excellent player who offered a midfield option to Ron. Very, very reliable....and that isn't damning with faint praise. Too early to judge VvD in direct comparison as a CB, but he offers us more excitement going forward. RK would never say, but I'd like his opinion comparing the two....after all he's the one who has to pick a team based on the players available.

VVD because he wants to be here. I like Toby a lot, but VVD is settling in great. Both would have been unreal.

Back to the newbies...

VvD - looks an absolute dream so far. Long may it continue.
Romeu - is going to be an astute signing for 5m. Passes well, works hard and positions himself well.
Juanami - not judging him as he hasn't played more than a few minutes and it is clear that we have him wrapped in cotton wool at the moment and there will be a good reason for this.
Clasie - I have no doubt he will be a success. Not judging him either after 60 minutes and 30 minutes of Premier league football.
Cedric - he is doing an excellent job and is proving a success
Stekkers - just what we needed. A success and I hope he stays, but that will only be as cover for a fully fit Fraser.
Martina - he's only played one whole half of league football - not going to make a judgment on that.
Caulker - doesn't quite look the part for me, however he hasn't had a run of games either.

Stek- 7 good acquisition and made some excellent stops but I wouldn't want him as long term #1

Cedric- 8 initially suspect in defence but has improved (coincided with vvd starting... and Bert coming back). Doesn't have quite the relationship with RAM as clyne had with mane.

Cuco- can't rate, when he came on as a sub I thought he had a gait like a calf!

Romeu- 7.5 I like. Busy and plenty of bite. Don't compare to Morgan, hes not yet at that level. Needs to watch his cards but IMO should always be partnering Vic.

VVD- 9.5 class defender, thought we would struggle to match toby but he has already exceeded him IMO. Good hair too, fonte needs to grow his and bring back the Alice band.

Classie- 6.5 this is a provisional rating based on his few appearances. He needs time to click and has great potential.

Caulker- 7 I really don't see what hes done wrong (on the pitch). Didn't know about his bad rep until now. Perhaps this is swaying peoples opinions along with qpr baggage. Maya has kept him out because he is a good defender.

Forgot Juanmi- 6.5 he looks busy, quick to react, no end product. Needs time to work with front 4. Nice assist for long.
